+100! |
Why didn't people deal with this when the storm first came through again? Big surprise over a week out the adults who are available to get you out of your situation are charging you $100-200. My driveway also got plowed back in after I cleared it. Last Tuesday. Dealt with it then. I'm sure there are people with genuinely extenuating circumstances where they could not handle their property for variables out of their control. Mostly though from walking around it's just people too lazy or too inpet or too selfish to bother. |
Amazing if you know your conscience is clear don't worry about it. Many spots where sidewalks should have and could have been cleared. |
DP. People are doing the best they can. This is difficult and slow going, and not everyone has the same physical capacity. Instead of being snarky, go help your neighbor. I think it's normal to make sure you can get in/out before shoveling sidewalks. That's what we do too. |
What if there aren't any safe spaces to stand? |
The logic is they gave a pass for a week to give plenty of time to figure it out. Now they are enforcing. What is difficult to understand? |
Sorry but plenty of people are not doing the best they can. I have two able bodied neighbors. Younger than me males. They shoveled their driveways out and ignored their sidewalks. Then back at it when it worked for them to shovel cars out from the street. No I'm not shoveling their sidewalk for them. |
Because the time to do it was a week ago when it was much easier to do it and before all these kids and pedestrians walked all over it. Now it is pretty near impossible. Apparently people didn't have the sense to figure out it was going to be near impossible later on, but here we are. The County could have helped them along by enforcing from the beginning. Either enforce it or don't. A week+ delay is silly. |
+1 We have a couple neighbors like that. Zero excuses. They are capable and can afford the packs of teens going around shoveling. If people have extenuating circumstances that’s one thing. But flat out laziness isn’t ok. |
What have people been figuring out that they haven't sorted on the 9th full day following a snow storm. |
If it clears out a few roads by the schools it’s worth it. |
IDK. We shoveled out in the first day or two. But some did not. The snowcrete was extremely heavy. Some people probably needed time to find someone to hire or wait for it to soften up. It's much softer today with the warmer temps. So that's helpful. |
Oh I agree, I was talking about the PP who said they had physical issues. They were doing the best they could. You are right - others are just uncaring |
| delay tomorrow - makes sense. it was ugly this AM |
I left 10 minutes earlier than I would normally leave if driving my kids off (at two separate schools - middle school and high school start times) and it was a massive nothing burger. Just throwing it out there that parts of the County and some schools seem a-ok. Sorry to those struggling I know there are some tough spots. |
