It's funny, I thought the actress was actually really good and the role reasonably well-written in parts. But at the same time, I also thought it really didn't "work." I did not buy--or even really understand--Sophie's connection to Benedict--or even to the larger Bridgerton family. So I sort of liked the character but it was like she was cut-and-paste out of a different story and plunked down in an awkward, unworkable Cinderella-Benedict character arc.

She was so blah, and frankly not beautiful enough to have completely won over BB in one scene.

DP I do not think Sophie is beautiful. I do think she is attractive, but beautiful is not how I would describe her. I would describe the actress who played the kind-hearted stepsister as beautiful. Kate is beautiful

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I don’t think Kate is beautiful at all. I thought Edwina was prettier than Kate.

Kate is darker than Edwina, and a lot of people cannot see beyond the dark complexion to recognize beauty. But anyone looking at Simone Ashley and not seeing beauty is blind and/or prejudiced against darker skin. That does not take anything away from the actress Charithra Chandra, who played Edwina.

You can’t be serious. Have you ever heard the expression “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?”

I would not call Kate beautiful. She is pretty, but her nose is too big. It has absolutely nothing to do with her darker complexion. Her sister Edwina was also pretty. I would also not call her beautiful but I do think she is prettier than Kate. She has a more delicate nose that fits her face. Those are my opinions.

There’s always one who has to make it about race.
