lol. What makes you think there's going to be a next year? Why do you think the MAGAs have been building bunkers and buying assault rifles and non-hybrid seeds? Things are definitely headed to a civil war. Maybe right now given the move to take out the generals.

the tin foil hat hs arrived.

my company has never furloughed or laid off people during a shit down. They have kept payroll going. it all comes out in the wash.

I wish I had your naive optimism. But I that pretty incredible given that this president has already attempted a coup.

A compromise and no shut down, most likely.

A compromise is unlikely. Trump doesn't do that. Schumer is good at caving, though. We'll be done with him soon if he does it again.

So the Senate will quickly vote after the Monday meeting, it sounds like. Enough Dems will save the day and there will not be a shut down. Such fake drama.

Senate Dems will blink.

They usually do, but I don't think I've ever seen Democratic voters pushing harder for congressional leaders to do something to push back. This will certainly be the end of Schumer. The Democrats in general might as well just back up and go home until the midterms.

Does OPM stay open to keep processing retirement applications during a shutdown? My guess is no.

None of this will happen but it is part of a plan to keep federal employees stressed out and miserable.

I’m opting out and not playing. If they want to fire us, I’ll deal with it when it actually happens. Government shutdowns when only one party is in power is a bad look.

I posted this at 10:12 on 9/25 and what do you know, it looks like the government will stay open!

Guys stop playing their game and buying this “shutdown” theater bullsh. There was never going to be a shutdown and we need to opt out of the day to day meant to stress feds out.

Who are the Dems “saving the day?”

The WH meeting hasn’t happened, and aside from one several day old story about a few Senate Democrats putting out feelers to negotiate something without leadership, there’s no sign anyone is closer to an agreement.

The thing I keep asking myself is, “What would Nancy Pelosi do?” I think she should be put in charge of deciding how the Dems play this out.
