Will your child wear a mask when they go back to school?

Exactly. I care about my children's welfare, which is why I don't want them masking.

If wearing a masks is detrimental to your children, they have other issues. A well adjusted, sound, and mentally healthy child would be just fine.

Absolute crap. Wearing masks all the time is not normal, and inhibits social development. You are completely lost.

Posters like PP above have simply resorted to insulting and bullying children. It's all they have left.

Did you read what she wrote? She was willing to sequester her child(ren) for a time, but not indefinitely. That was my main takeaway, and it’s not unlike the thinking of many other educated parents. The scenario we face now is very different from April 2020, i.e., COVID is more mild and more contagious, so avoiding it is much more difficult, on top of the 2+ years of social isolation and restrictions society has faced.

MoCo/MCPS had some of the strongest restrictions for the longest amount of time in the entire country. It’s worth examining the trade-offs of that approach; it’s also reasonable to adapt as circumstances evolve.

Also, no, our kids aren’t wearing masks.

Everything has been fully back to normal for at least a year. Stop making it sound like most people are still isolated when its now only by choice. We haven't had any true restrictions.

In MCPS? No, everything hasn’t been “fully back to normal.” Weekly PCR testing, lengthy quarantines for exposure, and the looming threat of school closures at any given moment are not “normal,” no matter how you try to spin it. Oh, and remember that until, what, March of 2022, kids were required to mask all day in school. That’s not “normal.”

Testing was optional. there was zero threat of schools closing.

It does not inhibit social development. You need to be a better parent. You’re lost and blaming masks for your deficiencies in raising children.

If they don't want to wear a mask, it's detrimental enough. They don't want to wear masks, haven't for a long time, and they won't next week.

No one wants to wear a mask. You are acting out and your children see it and act the same.

Once the stupid color coding system was dropped. But a dozen or so schools foolishly had to close for a couple weeks.

They have absolutely nothing and go to nonsense such as “social development.” Likely, had poor social development before.

I'm talking about the poster bullying kids about being abnormal unless they acquiesce to being masked.

No one ever wants to wear a mask. That’s not the point. Some do have to wear a mask.

Why did you say no one has to? Some do.
