I think he’s saying that gang shootings that kill multiple people happen every day in our urban areas and nobody cares and nobody is calling them mass shootings. Mainstream media only seems to care about the “mass shootings” we hear about because it could be our kids. |
I mean, presumably if you’re in a gang you realize and accept a certain risk of gunfire. I’m not saying it’s right, but we generally don’t expect to be dodging gunfire at a family friendly parade or in a second grade classroom. |

This is a pretty in depth expose of Robert II's financial problems and domestic conflict:https://www.cnn.com/2022/07/08/us/highland-park-suspect-family-turmoil-invs/index.html
It appears that, in my opinion, the father's actions ( getting the knives back fro him the very night they were taken away AND 3 months later assisting his son in getting the guns despite his son's obvious showing a deep level of emotionally disturbance ) shows that perhaps he used his son as some kind of proxy to vent his own rage Where did the money fro the 5 guns come from in a household where the Dad isn't paying the mortgage or his debts ? |
Classic: the father is a "pull yourself up by your boot-straps," "free markets", MAGA tool who's... wait for it... On Food Stamps! Bet he hates "the government," though. |
Predictable. That article is a list of some pretty awful MAGA parenting. |
| Dropping out of high school after your freshman year doesn’t seem like the best of choices. WTAF is wrong with these parents? I get the mother might have had some issues —a career path as an energy healer notwithstanding — and dad was in catastrophic financial meltdown but what were social workers doing for the kid? What was this kid doing with his life between ages 15 and 22? Spending time collecting knives or at the firing range seems suboptimal. It is odd not to hear anything about the younger brother. |
+1. It’s coming It’ll send a strong message too. As would getting him in death row firing squad asap. |
He was abusive towards his wife too. Tons of DV calls to the police over the last five years. She fought back a few times too, and he played her to the police as well. Ugh |
Mainstream media now calls everything a mass shooting. It riles up people more. The term used to be reserved for 10+ fatalities and some news mag now goes with 4 hits or fatalities definition |
The 18 yo murderer. |
| Where’s the next mass shooting going to be? How many innocent people will be killed and injured? |
The tragedy is that these mass murders could be stopped. We, as a country, choose not to do anything about them. You or your loved ones could be next. |
+1 And if you kill or rape anyone, the sentence should be life without parole. No getting out for any reason. |
The Highland Park shooter was allowed to legally buy guns even though there had been prior domestic disturbance calls, suicide attempts, police taking knives from the home. Along with school disciplinary records involving violence. The Virginia Tech shooter was allowed to legally buy guns even though his mental health records clearly indicated serious problems. We need to change the laws such that any such item like that must be reported to a national database as a flag to prevent them from being able to legally buy guns. And, any reported incident involving violence or mental health crisis should include checking for and removing any weapons from the individual's possession. That, and we need much stronger controls and trackability to shut down the underground black market for guns not legally purchased. |

If gun owners only shot other gun owners, I wouldn’t care. Live by the sword…
We have a right to remove these firearms from their hands because they shoot non-gun owners and innocent children. I am so sick of gun owners and their so-called right’s! I have the right to go to a fricking small town 4th of July parade without the fear of getting shot by a sniper (who was a law-abiding gun owner right up until his first kill shot). |
