The FCPS School Board activists are a threat to our kids every single day by pushing forward their agenda of gender ideology, sexualization, and political activism in spite of the objection from the majority of parents, students, and some school staff.

Stacy Langton’s methods to fight this indoctrination might not be perfect, but they have been effective in that she brought to light things that were hidden; and for that, many parents are grateful and appreciate her advocacy and courage.

Not sure why your chose this specific thread to mock Mrs. Langton’s, but there is no doubt that Superintendent Reid has bigger challenges ahead of her.

I guess if this were one of the backward former slave states like Texas or Alabama that might be true, but it sounds like you're living in an alternative reality.

Alternative reality is to believe that everyone else is obsessed with sex to the extent that it becomes the only thing that defines them.

DP: It's not about sex, it's about whether the state respects your control over your own body.

K-12 students attend school to get an education focused on academics and to master basic concepts on core subjects and electives, additional to acquiring critical thinking skills; and ideally, to be encouraged to become independent learners. Parents don’t send their kids to school to become political activists on issues that pertain adults.

That being said, I agree with you on whether the State respects women’s control over their own bodies to be an issue. It’s for that reason that when it comes to girls in K-12 grades, the State, School Board, school unions, or any other third parties should NOT have control over girls’ bodies and decide for them that it’s acceptable to eliminate single sex spaces at school, such as bathrooms or lockers. Nor should they control girls’ bodies at sports by unfairly submitting female students to compete against male students who identify as female.

Last, NO adult should demean K-12 girls by reducing them to body parts or bodily functions, and in the process, robing them of the pride and dignity that comes with inherently being a woman. Such is the case when substituting the word woman with “menstruating person”, or would be the case if girls are taught that when they mature, they can’t aspire to be called mothers, but rather “birthing people”, or “nursing parent”.

Forcing K-12 girls to believe that anyone can redefine their intrinsic value as women to appease some adults (mainly male) it’s nothing less than the State not respecting girls’ control over their bodies and their humanity.

Fancy language can't hide the fact that you are nuts.

Nuts AND appropriating feminism to mask their bigotry.

People who said that women need to embrace men playing at being women and give them first consideration in women’s issues hijacked feminism.

They succeeded in revealing how crazy “the left” has become.

Now you’ve got basic sanity (woman= adult human female) as the domain of “the right.”

I never thought I’d see the day.

+1

If you think the right is the realm of basic sanity by centering this kind of niche issue, you're really out there. The number of transgender people is really tiny but the right like to act like they are taking over the world.

Ummm no. The left panders to this 0.01% of the population just to make themselves feel better.

Based on your premise, we should expect that under Superintendent Reid the following practices will be true regarding our K-12 kids at school:
1. Girls will continue to count on single sex spaces in bathrooms and changing-rooms as of this fall.
2. Girls will compete in sports with other students who are biologically females in a category exclusively for their sex.
3. FCPS will strive to maintain the essence, dignity and humanity of all girls by continuing to use exclusively the words woman and mother to refer to women who have reached that stage in life, as opposed to any other woke terms created by gender activists to appease male adults.
4. Proper biology terms will be used to refer to female reproductive anatomy - such as breasts and vagina - during age appropriate discussions at school.

Based in your assertion, should FCPS not follow these practices, what do you propose parents do to protect our girls at school?

Your bullet list seems to be just the next line of ginned up issues having little to do with anything. My worries about my daughter have a lot more to do with national and potential politics that are taking away her bodily rights through the loss of Roe v. Wade than anything you're ginning up.

With all due respect, K-12 girls shouldn’t be dragged into the “potential politics” of adult issues. Getting an abortion during their formative years (K-12) is not as pressing of an issue as it is getting a top-natch education.

I do wonder if Reid will have any aptitude at all when it comes to moving discussions about FCPS’s future away from the endless culture wars (which most of us have no idea who started) and back to a focus on academics and operations. This School Board hasn’t shown it has any chops at all when it comes to discharging their primary responsibilities, so their “safe space” will always be performative acts of solidarity with various special interest groups, and Reid would have to have some real talent to break that cycle.

Yeah, bc no teen girl ever has needed an abortion. But the PP wasn't talking about top-notch education--I care about far more than I do the signage on bathrooms and the like.

And yet, Loudoun County is facing a HUGE lawsuit due to ignoring these ‘ginned up’ issues

No, Loudoun County has a lawsuit for not reporting sexual misconduct. These are different issues regardless who the perpetrator is.

If you think the right is the realm of basic sanity by centering this kind of niche issue, you're really out there. The number of transgender people is really tiny but the right like to act like they are taking over the world.

Any updates on what she is doing to clean up FCPS, clear the fat at Gatehouse, and get teachers and aides in the classrooms?

I don’t think she ever said that she was going to “clean up the fat” at gatehouse.
