Oh wow - NAACP has a good taste. She is/was National Superintendent of the Year.

It’s like they never learn:

“ Her district was among the first to close all of its schools because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which it did about a week and half before most other school systems.”

Agree. But the school board needs someone like them, someone that thinks they did the right thing. So are we really so surprised given their the ones hiring her?

The only way change will happen is the whole school board has been recalled. It not too late. If they’re recalled now, it will at least check the new Superintendent from falling into her old pattern.

Move on. No one is going to close schools again. Of course, there will be individual problems now that covid rates are going up and some people refuse to mask.

Well, you’d be waiting a long time since her name is Michelle Rhee.

I was thinking about that argument you people make while I was down in FL over spring break. Seems like those schools are open just fine with no masking.

Let's not forget in 2023. I am not voting for any incumbents. The only one who deserves to be re-elected in McLaughlin - but I can't vote for her, unfortunately.

“You people.” Nice. There is an uptick in cases and it could cause disruptions since some aren’t masking and school districts can’t mandate masks anymore since their hands were tied by Youngkin. But I know that many people are not testing or reporting or keeping kids home when they’re sick. Anyways this is off topic to the thread.

What a mess. Who is going to want this job? They have to open it back up.

But again, who will want to apply? If you become a finalist, the NAACP will out you before the process is complete. If you’re a sitting superintendent, you don’t want to risk going public as a finalist because if you don’t get the job, your current district will look at you with distrust. They will know you have an eye towards the door.

That's it! We're pulling out our kids from FCPS. My DD goes to Fairfax HS and I'm not happy with the new principal. And now SB messed up (again) with superintendent search/selection.

The new principal hasn’t started yet!
