If it were a republican, they would have been sworn in the moment the race was called. |
DeSantis set the general election date as late as possible knowing this is a majority-Black Democratic district. |
This is the thing that’s unavoidably undemocratic. I think Republicans have had enough time and enough elections to wave away various forms of voter suppression and the people who cook up the GOP’s talking points have them down pat. But there is no way to hand wave away just flat out changing an election/refusing to certify/etc. It is openly undemocratic. And that is why there are crickets when it’s brought up. |
DP: There are dozens, if not hundreds of posts where the OP purports to be an immigrant trying to understand some aspect of life in the United States, or a “reasonable Republican” who wants to be “convinced” of something that’s outside of the current QPublican litany. There are even , occasionally, people who claim to be one of the few “black” women who describe themselves with a small “b”, or a “POC” who never seems to drop any other ethnic or racial or even cultural details beyond stereotypes added in later — like listening to “rap” music and such. They drop in, start a conversation about something potentially controversial, and never identify themselves again within the conversation. I’m guessing that they get paid to sow dissent. Or they’re doing it for the fun of it — and forgot which threads they started. |
Thanks for posting this. So, no Sunday voting — when Sunday, traditionally, has been the only day people have time off — if they work directly for a family ( Housekeeper, Yard work, etc.) or a privately owned small business. I don’t know how it impacts this particular area, but it’s chillingly reminiscent of the laws that reduced the opportunity for Black citizens to vote in the not at all distant past. |
Where are you, rational conservative OP? |
That’s exactly what it is. Jim Crow 2.0. |
Pretty sure this has something to do with Spalding Co. Evidently, the 2020 election was a $hitshow there.
