I'm a rationale conservative - can you convince me voting rights legislation is needed?

If you can’t win with your ideas and policies, then by all means, cheat.

Don’t need to read 54 pages. Voting should be easy for the people and hard for others. If I can vote in 10 minutes a mile from my house because I’m in the “right” demographic, then everyone should be able to vote in 10 minutes near their house. They should make poor black people stand in line for 3 hours on a workday and not let people hand out water.

It’s like social security. Create enough delays and hurdles, and you are making it effectively impossible for some people to access.

Now, if you are fine regularly standing outside in whatever weather for 3 hours to vote, we can talk. But the people who don’t believe in voting rights are the ones who can already vote quickly and conveniently.

Ditto for making early voting, mail in voting, voting without onerous ID requirements only available to the “right” demographics.

I think that once a citizen turns 18 or is sworn in, they should automatically be registered to vote.

1. The Heritage Foundation found no significant instances in the US of illegals voting. Yes, The Heritage Foundation.

2. NC is mulling over right now a person's right to talk about voting. That's right, talk about voting.

3. Only Republicans are suing in swing states to stop Americans from voting. Why not red states?

MAGA/Republicans are not Americans; they are traitors to the US and have no idea what it means to be an American.

To be fair they're not doing it in blue states either. The swing states are where the action is. Whether it is voter fraud or voter suppression, that depends on your brand of delusion. Voter id laws have not been very effective at suppressing voter turnout.

This would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Republicans have 150 active cases to stop you from voting freely and fairly
Republicans are using the DOJ to go to states to steal private voter data
The state of zoo just told them to F off

Cleta Mitchell and her band of sycophants have a plan and it’s ugly
We are not voting in 2028 that’s a full on definite

As for 2O26 Gerry mandering and funny business from governors like a youngkin working with Mitchell will mean no Dems will be voted in

Nice maga cult you lost it all

When ICE blocks precinct voting areas or pulls people out of line and hold them until the day after the election, the OP of this thread will just shrug their shoulders.

To the OP, you need to look at what is happening in TX, FL, and NC, for example. They are openly and brazenly diluting POC votes and dem votes. They've said it openly, they are grabbing power by changing the maps. That has been illegal previously and has been what voting acts tried to prevent. But SCOTUS and lawless MAGA republicans don't care. They can't win on their ideas, so they cheat.

If this doesn't make you concerned and want voting rights protected, then there is nothing that will convince you otherwise.
