I don’t know anyone who thinks Frisch is on the School Board because he cares about education or kids. It’s simply an entry-level political job that positions him to collect money from wealthy LBGTQ donors in NY and CA and then run for higher office.

Unfortunately the rest of us have to pick up the pieces after he runs FCPS into the ground, including through unnecessary projects like Dunn Loring.

Of course it doesn’t but the question was why did people vote for him again. The answer is because there was no reasonable alternative.

And criticizing him for having no kids and being part of the LGBTQ community is the problem. Opponents who focus on those things will lose because most people don’t have a problem with those things.

But it’s a more than full time job that pays less than $50,000 a year and subjects you to lots of vitriol and hate so not many people will be interested in running.

Make him an LBGTQ icon if you want but his interests and priorities are not aligned with those of FCPS families. A ham sandwich, a drag queen, and a Karl Frisch could each get elected to the FCPS School Board if endorsed by the FCDC, but that doesn't mean any of the foregoing would make a good SB member.

Yeah, we did office hours with him in the Summer of 2020 when Fairfax County was initially saying they'd open up hybrid somehow. We told him that we supported opening schools with masks on and he just went on and on about his partner and how he understood that we wanted to keep our children safe, etc, and he would do his best to keep schools closed for as long as possible and we were like "DUDE DID YOU LISTEN TO A WORD WE SAID, WE WANT OUR CHILDREN BACK IN PERSON RIGHT NOW". Have hated him since that moment.

But WHY - why won't any other democrats/progressives/liberal people run against him??? Everyone I know has said that if there was a reasonable opponent, they would vote Karl out ASAP.. There has to be some empty nested stay at home out there that could do this job FAR better than him.

People voted for him because most of Fairfax County votes "blue no matter who" and doesn't research local issues or give a fig about who they are electing, their lack of qualifications and what they do once elected.
