Seems like it hasn't been true for a while that they require only A teams, no matter what they say on that front. It seems like they could carry on with whoever is not playing DA or ECNL/NPL or National league. Hopefully they'd drop the pretense about it being an elite league in that case though. |
Pump the breaks folks. This isn't a merger. Both clubs will still be independent and Loudoun's A team will still be in CCL because Loudoun does not have the girls DA. Any player from Loudoun who plays on the DA team will become a FCV player. Loudoun provides fields and a player pool to monitor and FCV provides a player path. This will work more like VDA where the clubs remain very independent except for top players that FCV and Loudoun identify. |
The partnership will work. Just ask the Directors what they think about their partner club . I am curious to find out if they will tell you the truth! |
why not partner with wash. spirit as planned? why a need to go to FCV? loudoun would still have the top FCV boys coming over for DA tryouts, and wouldn't spirit be a better partner for girls side? was a drive to fairfax really out of the question for parents out here in loudoun? loudoun will still have a team in CCL, you can call it an A team or b team, doesn't matter, but it won't be as good as in the past if the true A girls are now going over to fcv for next year |
I think they will tell the truth and it will sound like this: For Loudoun: "We are providing a pathway to the highest level of play." For FCV: "We are securing the access to fields and to one of the largest player pools in the State." |
All rumors claim that the Spirit simply do not have their act together. Possibly there was no real structure or plan put forth or no real leadership from Spirit? Seems like BRYC and Loudoun are trying to do right for their kids. |
Those top players always left to play in ECNL anyways, regardless of whether it was McLean or FCV. |
So the elite will leave for FCV, the top leave for ECNL at McLean or Braddock Road, and the rest play in CCL. CCL play gets watered down in the end. |
Curious, Did you take your kid? |
Not pp but the club pays to relocate the entire family to Spain. They are investing in the player to make money down the line when the player is worth millions. It is a business. For the pp above, how did they scout your son on a C team? Did someone recommend him as worth a look? |
CCL was always watered down at U14 and older. Accept CCL for what it is, a great U9-U13 league. |
Not even at the younger ages. At U9 and 10 my kids team won almost every game by double digits. Then when they'd go to a tournament with teams not in CCL they'd lose big. On the boys side that age there are only 2 semi-decent teams. |
That happens in every league. The greatest disparity of talent/experience occurs at U9-U10. This is not a CCL thing but a U9, they are eight years old thing. |
Is it official that FCV will no longer do ECNL? I see the DA announcement, but will FCV still try and do ECNL as well? |
Nothing "official". It has been presumed that BRYC no occupies FCV's ECNL spot. But, with this Loudoun partnership it is feasible that Loudoun and FCV could support both DA and ECNL. |
