I think that this is all very good an accurate analysis about this hostile and strange virtual world that this generation grew up in. His analysis is important and seems right on - except for his premise. He says: TR is not alt-right or extreme left, but then goes on to describe the internet ecosystem where every single influence is an individual or group that is extreme right wing. So while he may be correct that the shooter's motivations are not be exactly political in a way that most adults can understand, the world that shaped the shooter was. And it was most definitively alt-right!

It’s so weird the alt-right and these super religious people have this weird look in their eyes.

You can tell when somebody is just pretending from moneybecause they don’t have crazy eyes

yep. she comes across very harsh.
There is nothing soft, Jesus-like, submissive wife about her which is weird because that is her message but her persona says she'd cut a bi$%tch in about 5 seconds flat.
I went down a whole Erika Kirk video rabbit trail the other night.

It’ll be interesting to see if she can continue TP. She certainly sounds as divisive as he was.

Erika Kirk vowed in a speech today to continue her husband’s movement and said that “the cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry,” USA Today reports.

Said Kirk: “If you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea. You have no idea what you’ve just unleashed across this entire country, and this world. You have no idea the fire you’ve ignited within this wife.”

Hmm. Sorry, gravy train will stop:
1.Her husband had some warmth and charisma, she doesn't.
2. Also, the conservative ecosystem wants its males to lead large movements. Women influencers in the conservative sphere, of which there are many, have to fight for a much smaller slice of the pie and usually their followers are other conservative women.

This family is done for now. Maybe in the fullness of time she can marry another male influencer and carry him to success. This appears to be her talent: pushing a husband to lead. I respect that. It's no small feat.

Yes. She's the JD Vance of the pairing. No charisma, no warmth, no likability. Charlie had charisma in spades and just the right amount of good looks that appealed to both men and women, young people and their middle aged mothers.

Are you...blind? Charlie Kirk was hideous, almost deformed.

+1 His wife is beautiful, he wasn’t. His head and face were weird.

So, we are at the place in the discussion where you are criticizing the appearance of someone brutally murdered and the "charisma" of his widow.
DCUM never fails to disappoint in the shallowness of discussion. You people could have learned something from Charlie Kirk.

We did. Empathy is dangerous.

Amazing that people who say this also claim to be devout Christians

Can you paste the whole transcript, I’d like to know the whole context and how and why that response came up.

Conflating empathy for a killer for justice?
Making excuses for someone’s bad decision?

I can be empathetic to the drugged up criminal who knifed that girl to death in then subway, AND still want him imprisoned for life. But I won’t let him go free a 15th time because I’m “empathetic.” Don’t conflate empathy with naïveté.

Anonymous wrote:Someone on DCUM claimed that Charlie Kirk condoned the stoning of gay people. That sounded extreme, so I started looking into it. I came across a news story titled, “Stephen King Apologizes for Claiming Charlie Kirk ‘Advocated Stoning Gays’: ‘This Is What I Get for Reading X Without Fact-Checking.’” (https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/stephen-king-apologizes-charlie-kirk-stoning-gays-1236516429/)

It made me wonder: how many of the extreme, hateful claims attributed to Kirk are actually false? And how much did these falsehoods contribute to the climate that led to his assassination? He was compared to a Nazi, an accusation that, if widely accepted, would make his death something to be celebrated by many. But was that comparison fair?

Before he was assassinated, I had never even heard of him. Afterward, I read an article compiling his most well-known quotes (listed below). They were definitely conservative, but none struck me as Nazi-like. From what I saw, he was simply an American with right-leaning views, open to debate like anyone else in a democratic society.

Well-known Quotes of Charlie Kirk:
“Our founders did not establish this nation and shed their blood to see it become the world’s greatest debtor nation.”

“It is the responsibility of the individual to protect their own freedom and secure their own happiness.”

“Freedom is not about doing what feels good; it’s about doing what’s right.”

“The government does not create wealth, it simply redistributes it.”

“America is not perfect, but it is the greatest nation in the history of the world.”

“Capitalism is not a system that guarantees equal outcomes, but it is a system that guarantees equal opportunity.”

“Conservatism is not about status quo; it’s about returning to the principles that have stood the test of time.”

“The government’s job is not to make us equal, but to give us all equal rights.”

“Education should focus on teaching students how to think, not what to think.”

“Liberals believe in the power of government, conservatives believe in the power of the individual.”

“The left loves diversity of thought as long as everyone agrees with them.”

“The greatest threat to freedom is the temptation to trade it for security.”

“The government should be limited, not the dreams and ambitions of its citizens.”

“Success is not about who you know, it’s about what you know and what you do with it.”

“Patriotism is not about blind loyalty, but about recognizing the greatness and potential of your country.”

“Liberty is not a gift from government, it is a right bestowed upon us by our Creator.”

“The culture war is not about right vs. left, it’s about right vs. wrong.”

“Freedom is not free; it must be fought for and defended.”

“Big government is not the solution; it’s the problem.”

“Self-reliance is the fuel of success; dependency is the road to mediocrity.”

“The American Dream is not a guarantee, it’s an opportunity.”

“We are not entitled to anything; we must earn what we want in life.”

“Conservatism is not about hating change; it’s about preserving what is good and proven.”

“The principles that made America great are timeless; they are not bound by time, culture, or political correctness.”

“Progressivism is not about progress; it’s about control.”

“Liberty is not just a word, it’s a way of life.”

“The pursuit of happiness is not about material possessions, but about finding meaning and purpose in life.”

“Capitalism is not perfect, but it is the best economic system ever created.”

“The left wants to create equality of outcome, while the right seeks to create equality of opportunity.”

“The greatness of our nation lies in the power and potential of its individuals.”

These are a very sane-washed demonstration of his words. And omits MANY other horrific, offensive, vile things he has said.

“If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, ‘Boy, I hope he’s qualified.’”
He also stated that certain individuals in governemnt-including Justice Jackson- were "affirmative action hires." These are deeply racist and misongynistic statements.

Kirk called gay and transgender people “groomers” who are “destructive” and characterized them as "not normal" people.

When Zohran Mamdani won the New York City Democratic primary, he said “Twenty-four years ago a group of Muslims killed 2,753 people on 9/11…Now a Muslim Socialist is on pace to run New York City.” He called Islam “the sword the Left is using to slit the throat of America.” How profoundly rotten and hateful can one be?

He stated: should have that the US should have “just took care of” transgender people “the way we used to take care of things in the 1950s and 60s.” In the 1950s and 60s the standard treatments” were lobotomy, shock therapy, and involuntary institutionalization.

He denounced the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

He derided empathy and worthless.

He told Taylor Swift, upon news of her engagement, to "reject feminism" and "submit to your husband".

He called gun deaths "unfortunately worth it" to preserve the Second Amendment.

He falsely promoted voter fraud in the 2020 election.

These are just a few.

I’m bringing this article from page 297 up to here. This is a really important and good article about the online radicalization going on - primarily aimed at young men.

It is very clear this is the world that the killer lived in. His bright future somehow got derailed that first semester at college, he retreated into the online world and was increasingly isolated from society. The Fuentes/ Loomer world gave him some kind of validation that the loneliness he faced wasn’t his fault and a place he could channel his anger.

I also fear that although it is very clear this is what happened, that the Trump administration/ FBU is going to do all that it can to squelch this story. I wouldn’t put it past them to do a plea deal where if he pleads guilty and claims he was on the left that he can avoid the death penalty. It’s like Jan 6. At first most Republicans were also horrified by it. But then they came up with some talking points that enabled them all to shift the blame and not take responsibility.

So look carefully at what Trump and Patel say. This is a right on right issue that needs to be addressed. Don’t let them blame and vilify the Democrats for their radicalization issue.

And yes, make sure you are talking to your sons. There are a lot of them holed up in their game rooms in dialogue on discord and 4chan about a lot of these vile views.

Nope, drop your trope. It’s been proven false.

Wrong. It has NOT been "proven false" - but here you are falsely claiming it has, in disingenuous desperation to try and deflect attention away from the massive and very real alt-right radicalization problem we have afflicting young white males in America.

Lead investigator and Utah governor address this Friday.

Not because DCUM has its usual conspiracy theories and believes the whole country is the same, but because they’ve interviewed Tyler’s current roommate, family, socials/computer and him himself.

If they had left-wing evidence, they'd be out there on the front page with it.

The stoning thing is true though. The clip has been posted repeatedly. He doesn’t say it as directly as represented but he definitely endorsed stoning gay people as a way to teach them what God’s law is.

NO HE DIDN’T!!!!

Even lefty Stephen King understands his point.

Steven King is just panicked about being cancelled. As the mom of a gay kid and with many gay friends, I watched that whole clip (4 young male troglodytes ganging up on a young woman) with complete disgust and interpreted it as Kirk smirkingly endorsing violence against gays. Even if not literal stoning, the whole point of that clip is to jeer at Ms Rachel saying that gays are worthy of God’s love. The addition of the violent verse made it even worse. We aren’t playing this game anymore of pretending that the “who meee?? I was just debating!” ameliorates the underlying violence and hate. And guess who just figured THAT out to his and his children’s eternal trauma.

Apart from the fact that many of these are unoriginal bromides and don’t describe the world accurately, this one sticks out as ironic, coming from someone who created a watch list used to harass and intimidate college professors who expressed views he didn’t agree with:

“The left loves diversity of thought as long as everyone agrees with them.”
