Feel Bad For You...Your DH is a cheat

Anonymous
I know a man who owns a local and very successful bar. My friends and I go in there from time to time. I know of his wife only because I'm FB friends with him. She gushes from time to time what a wonderful guy he is, most recently was today about fathers day. Yea right. The guy is a total dog and should never be married.

I have to wonder...don't these women know in the back of their minds that these men are pratically da ting othet women? Are they blindsided when they find out? When he first came onto me I asked him if he was in an open relationship thinking that maybe she's all good with his side activities. To his credit he was like oh hell no, she'd leave me if she found out. I keep him at a friends distance because I don't need that kind of drama. Just knowing him for a few years, I can't imagine how she doesn't know.

I see women post on here about how they are shocked to learn that their husbands have been cheating. Really?? How the hell does that creep up on you? It takes a lot of investment in unaccounted for time to cheat on someone.

He is probably dating someone that turns a blind eye to how his is with women. No guy is that open about wanting to hook up unless his wife just deals with it.

And of course every FB weirdo was posting on Father's Day about how their husband is the best father in the world blah blah blah. It is the FB thing to do. But we all know these people IRL and know it is total bullshit.

Most women know something is going on but to actually admit it is considered a failure. Facebook is for making believe you have the perfect marriage but in the home, different thing.

It's easy to cheat and not get caught.

How? I don't get the logistics.

We have elementary aged kids. We spend all weekend with them. Right now they are in summwr travel sports and we are all out of town most weekends. We are both home at night and eating dinner at 6pm. Very little travel and on the better work trips we attend we often all go together (like San Diego, Vegas, Austin).

I'm not sure how I would just dip out on a Thursday night without enlisting the help of my friends to cover for me. Hour hotel rental during lunch?

You cheat with a parent on the team or a friend's spouse you vacation with and socialize with a lot.

Yea. It's called marrying someone willfully ignorant who will claim shock and suprise when it smacks them in the face and they can no longer pretend it doesn't happen without looking like a complete fool.

OP is talking about somebody that owns a bar. He works all kinds of crazy hours and can easily slip away with a barfly.

Many spouses work shifts or travel.

Lunch time is a good time, conferences, travel, going to happy hour with friends but go to your OP's apartment.

I get the bar thing. For normal professionals it would not be so easy unless you have a spouse with their head in the sand. In my house it is routine for me to hear a text go off and I ask my DH to grab my phone and let me know what someone wants. It would be quite suspicious if I suddenly kept my phone on me at all times and kept it locked.

And this is exactly how people find out.

The cheater doesn't think real clearly about how his/her actions are starting to change. How the 'covering up" is actually pretty noticeable. The spouse gets suspicious, the cheater slips up, the spouse finds out, and downhill from there.

Those that cheat on a very regular basis have really thought about this from the start. They've given themselves space to cheat in instead of spending every hour away from work at home, allowing their spouse to access their phone, not having a lock on it from the start, etc.

It just cracks me up when one person all of a sudden changes how they act thinking they are being normal when it is the total opposite. Red flag.

OP,

Why did he come on to you? I am sure he thought he had a chance with you. There has never been a married man who has come on to me (I am married too), because I have a no-nonsense personality and demeanor that discourages it.

It was a different story when I was single and the men were single.

Are you giving off that kinds of a vibe that makes married men think that they have a chance with you?

Or you ate not hot. Or you are old.

Hot women of all types get hit on by men of all types.]

I'm a married man and my 37yr old wife is a dime and has a body that putsmost 22yr olds to shame. Men will hit on her when I'm 10 feet away. She doesn't give off any vibe at all. Men see her and they start to act stupid. That is how it happens with hot women. I know this first hand.
