I thought this was supposed to be one or the other--didn't the townhall specify this would be an academy system?

The email that came out said due to safety concerns the players that indicated they were ready for in person training now were placed in small groups for training. This is just to get them back on the field, not what they are doing this fall, which is the academy model they discussed on the town hall. Several kids from my DS team are not ready for in person training so they will continue to use Techne Futbol I guess amd will not participate in the in person sessions due to their families comfort level.

I haven't heard much for DD, and we're beginning to get a little nervous over the status of the age group. I talked with another family (older age group) and they think we'll end up combining several age groups for the girls. Apparently, dozens of girls (literally at least 24) from the 2003, 2004, and 2005 age groups have left. We're worried this may be true for 2006, 2007, and 2008 as well, maybe not dozens but for every player that leaves it'll be that much harder since there were only two teams already.

Since 2008 girls will be U13, will they be bringing up 2009 players? I don't know how the academy is supposed to work for the girls and it's really making us a little anxious.

Are you signed up with the club? I only ask because my DD is registered, and we've received multiple emails daily on the return to play. I would check whether you actually registered. Worst case reached out to someone at the club or coach.

We have seen the return to play emails; I am referring to the players in the squad/team/age group. It sounds like there may be more leaving and to be frank, I don't want a repeat of last season and then end up the last one to leave or playing up because they need more players on the team.

I'm not sure you are going to find that out for some time. I know players registered not yet ready to return to play and others waiting to see on whether there is an actual fall season. Not sure when we'll see actual teams but probably as they enter next phases.

Well, personally I'm not sure we'll see actual teams (plural, which is needed for the academy) or missing teams again. That's what is making me nervous; we know we've already lost a couple of our starters and now we're not sure regarding how many there are on the team. Like I said, I haven't heard much.

join your teammates. We waited and regretted it.

Wow. That was a sobering reality above. Thank you for the honesty because some are still blindly believing the club will rebound

Especially with their recent additions. Good grief!

Not PP, but DD's friends have already circulated what's going on. Admittedly, I'm not too keen on the younger groups. Not sure there are any additions on this side of the house.

Not sure what circulations you’re talking bout. I was talkin bout the staff. I know nothing bout children.

Oooooh i'm sorry, I apologize. I thought you were being facetious about 'recent additions'. I thought you were referring to 'new additions' as players, not coaches. That is why I responded about the what's being circulated (players leaving, trying to find new clubs). As far as the coaches I don't know, I don't think it matters, the leadership staff is the same.

So, now Lee High School in Fairfax will be changing their name. It was a unanimous vote, so my question is when will Lee Mt. Vernon go about changing their name? The only difference is Lee Mt. Vernon is a private sports club, so this should be a lot easier.

Not sure having the club named after the commanding Confederate general is appropriate these days.
