That's a good idea because Falls Church (city) is becoming a hot spot. Maybe think about moving to Leesburg!

Annandale is also a hot spot. As is the Woodbridge area, and Arlington.

Maybe "hot spot" is the wrong phrase but deaths per 100,000 population is higher than surrounding jurisdictions. Could be because of elderly facilities but there are plenty of those in Fairfax etc. as well.

Probably some bored high schooler.

Oh yes, because anyone who doesn’t agree with you must be in high school.

Please explain why any reasonable adult would be against wearing a mask in public during a pandemic.

Because 99%+ people are FINE.

Most people are contagious BEFORE having symptoms.

I can explain it! There are lots of reasonable adults who just aren't terribly bright. There ya go!

If people can’t wear masks they shouldn’t reopen.

Northam is not going to walk it back now sorry not sorry

Nova is not reopening on the 15th.

I disagree. MD is reopening that day and we will too. The only unknown is DC.

DC is planning on opening parks and fields on May 18.

Where can I find this information?

+100

They all think bc hospitals have capacity and “80% of people will be fine” it’s no big deal. They are wrong. My DH got Covid. He’s under 40, no underlying health conditions, in good shape. No idea how he got it. He ended up with pneumonia. All the website advice and our PCP said go to the ER bc he couldn’t breath. Hospital sent him home - later our PCP said she couldn’t believe it but the standard to get admitted is you have to be in really bad shape - and sometimes even then they send you home with oxygen. DH couldn’t breathe trying to move from lying to sitting . Walking 10 feet to the bathroom dropped his O2 below 70% and left him terrified and breathless. That is what they are calling “moderate to severe”. Would not wish it on anyone.

But you know, 99% of people are FINE ;p

Asshole, wear a mask. You might be asymptotic and pass it to someone who then passes it to someone who ISN’T fine.

What if the person you pass it to has young kids who might lose a parent? What if it’s both parents?

I swear, you people obviously care nothing about anyone but yourselves. Selfish assholes.

not going to restaurants other than pick up until their is a vaccine. I will go in retail if everyone is wearing a mask.

Other than Arlington has any other county said this?

So dumb. The people in Arlington will just drive to Fairfax for the services they need.

Something for Fairfax to consider.

And that’s why it should be a regional decision.

Who cares if someone from Arlington or anywhere comes to Fairfax to use available services. As long as they are following the restrictions posed by the store, what makes them a bigger risk than someone from Fairfax. They're just taking up limited capacity, so getting an appointment at the salon might take a bit longer.

Fairfax, Loudoun, Arlington and Prince William have all expressed concerns about reopening too early and Northam has told them that they can impose tighter restrictions.

Yes, I just read that they sent a letter to Governor Northam stating that they will not be participating in the reopening on Friday.

I'm not sure what this means.

My salon owner sent out a message last week that she would be opening on Friday for appointments only, masks required, and she would prefer no children to accompany anyone during their appointment. Only 4 of the 8 stations are being used and she detailed their cleaning process after each patron.

I have an appointment for next Saturday but now I'm wondering if I'll have to cancel.
