Va will open to Phase One on May 15 IF the data continues to show a downward percentage trend.

To the poster regarding day care- those could already be open if they want to be. The go ahead was given weeks ago. Open for essential workers and in VA that definition is broad.

Schools are not going to re-open so why bother mentioning it. It has nothing to do with Phase One.

My cousin and her husband are both teleworking and send their kids to a corporate daycare in Fairfax.

They predicted 2.2 million deaths in the beginning. People aren’t buying their BS models anymore.

who cares about campgrounds??

no mention of schools/daycares/camps/kids activities or neighborhood pools.

phase 1, no social gatherings of more than 10 people EXCEPT for churches and gyms. this doesn't seem to be based on science.

phase 1 will last a minimum of 2 weeks.

phase 2: soonest would begin in early june best case scenario
gatherings of 50 or more people (this is when activities can start back up IMO)

phase 3: early august at the soonest-most restrictions lifted, more cleaning.

Your fault is assuming political response is based on science. Science doesn't tell you what to do. It's public policy that tells you what to do. It's public policy that decides a virus with a IRL fatality of .5% or lower requires a mass shutdown, or that it doesn't.

I'm a little amused at people brandishing the word science as if it was a badge of honor or sword of Damocles. And that goes for any politician who claims they're guided by science. They're just misusing and abusing it.

About damn time. Now open up the Delaware beaches so I can go on my summer vacation. Screw the over 65 crowd. I want a beach vacation.

That's an internal memo. It's not directed at you, so you don't have to refuse to believe it. It's directed at the people in charge. They obviously don't care about you and me.

what is this 3000/deaths per day coming from ?

The church exception is probably because of the lawsuit. And our lovely DOJ backing the church over the state of Virginia. Sorry, the Commonwealth.

yeah, that's what he said. gyms would be open with more cleaning or something. how could a gym like gold's or lifetime keep people six feet apart? and have the staff to clean everything after each use? its silly. Or a big gym can be open but its kid camp is closed? that's not logical.

It’s completely logical the kids area is closed. Inconvenient, but smart. No. You’re equipment won’t be cleaned enough and there won’t be adequate distancing unless they switch to workouts by appointment.

how would a large gym run exercise by appointment only?

The reopenings haven't gone well in other states. Increases in cases and deaths, reclosures after places are overrun.

Temper your expectations.

agree.

There will be deaths in the pool parking lot when the first 50 get in and a bunch of angry privileged moms are told they and their kids can’t get in until people leave. And you KNOW those first couple weeks it’s open families stay for 4-5 hours at a time. LOL this is going to be a sh- t show.

ZERO evidence of this. It hasn’t been long enough yet to evaluate. Stop with your madness, please.

Boo hoo! The sheltering in place and social distancing works, I'm so mad that the numbers are so low.
