DA soccer terminating boys and girls? “Rumors”

Who cares about college soccer? Have you ever watched a game? If so, you know how bad it is, with teams unable to make three consecutive passes.

Get real. Just about every soccer dad and soccer mom cares They all think they’re kid will get a full D1 scholarship.

I agree with you on the level.

I’m laughing about the parent that told me their kid getting Club DA spot was a ticket to the USMNT.

That is funny on so many different levels.

Can't wait until it slaps you in the face

ECNL is not going to restructure themselves and fold everybody in. Nor are they going to let ex-DA clubs draw away players from its current members.

In the future, yes there’s potential to fold in clubs to grow it even further. But there’s already a regional league of ECNL, not that it’s impressive. Yes, this does suck but our league won’t just take you because you want the highest league. Earn it, as our clubs did.

Said someone with zero knowledge. ECNL will add in Arlington and FCV. There will most likely not be tryouts anywhere anytime soon.

Said by someone else with zero knowledge.

Yeah instead of rebutting reasoning, copy and paste “no knowledge”. Arlington and FCV may get there. If they show their value. But why would ECNL just fold them in immediately following the end of DA? ECNL isn’t there to protect current big clubs—it’s the be the elite playing conference. Give it a year or two, see how they can handle themselves without DA patch. If their best players leave, so be it. I don’t wish any bad karma to ex-DA clubs, but I don’t want ECNL protecting them. DD was U18 this year before it all came to a halt.

They fold in FCV because they have 4 of 6 age groups with one of the best team in the country. No other club can say that. Easy button emoji!

And they can all go join Loudoun, McLean, BRYC, or VDA. Lower players on this team will lose their spot to new incoming kids. If (when) ECNL wants to expand, they will. It won't be just to help out U12s from Arlington Red.

If FCV doesn't get a bid, they are finished as a club.

Their player pool will go to the nearby clubs.

Arlington will run back to Mclean
FCV will return to Loudoun and or Mclean

Story over

Exactly, everybody in ECNL gets stronger. Yet ex-DA parents are hopefully they'll get included.

I had said FCV won’t last last year. I think they might just fold call it a day and move on. Fcv parents will start scrambling to find ECNL teams.

Metro most certainly will not get an ECNL slot.
Arlington probably wont get a slot
FCV will get a slot.

Mclean would be the beneficiary.

Thanks FCV mom. so obvious.

Actually, metro and Arlington more likely to get one than FCV, with the bridges they’ve burned.

FCV getting ECNL would be a huge surprise considering the great big bridge they burned many years ago.

And recently since they left NPL/ ECNL RL.

There isn’t ridiculous travel either. EDP was the one league that didn’t blackball and prevent entry like the monopoly of a-hole Clubs that band together and try to protect their $ stream.

Karma. Good for all of these f@ckers. Burn it to the ground.

I agree EDP is in the best position right now with potential for them to expand, put all the ex-da teams into some top division to start with pro/rel after that. All of the various Virginia leagues should get combined into EDP to create VA only divisions with pro/rel to move up to one of the regional EDP divisions.

If in fact the DA dissolves, this is a golden opportunity for ECNL.

On the boys side the ECNL would be foolish not to offer membership to ever DA club.

On the girls side the ECNL should offer membership to all the top girls DA clubs.

Any less would risk them not establishing themselves as the top platform for both boys and girls in the US.

Someone will say the MLS academies will be the top for boys. Sure, but that is so few teams that it is not really a significant competitor for players.

ECNL wants to avoid an alternative non ECNL option forming in the area. After all they finally got Pipeline to join.
