08 Girls

Is there something going on with the Arlington team to explain these results? Was considering having DD tryout with Arlington 2008 this spring for next year because want her to play with high caliber team and everyone has been telling us they are considered the "team to beat" in the DMV. Loudoun is slightly closer. Anyone familiar with these 2 teams have any insight? Please only respond if you have actual information. Not interested in speculation. Any info on other 2008 teams that may be relevant welcome.

Easily top 3 girls 2008 team in Nova

Ok, you got a compliment from a parent on a scrappy 30th ranked team. Lets not go overboard

kind of a low blow isn’t it

+1000

FPYC parent: please ignore all of these low class and ignorant posts. I value your contributions to this forum.

+1. A person who is inevitably helpful and at least willing to identify with club as well.

+2, please ignore the classless troll

Not trolling FPYC parent at all, just telling McLean parent to relax. Not everyone needs to "acknowledge" any team. FPYC Parent does contribute and said some nice things but the classy thing for McLean parent would be to just say "thank you" instead of an entitled reply of "it’s good someone finally recognizes how good Mclean is." F U McLean parent. FPYC Parent was gracious. The dig was to the McLean parent not FPYC.

I take it Mclean 08 team beat your DD team pretty badly? wanna talk about it? It helps to talk Im sorry, you probably got beat 10-0 or something

And this is why it isn't worth giving McLean compliments.

I am a different poster, but I can see why PP reacted to you this way. You made a belittling reference to FPYC team by calling then a "scrappy 30th ranked team" and then proceeded to sanctimoniously lecture McLean parents about how to be classy, while using an F word towards McLean parents in the very next sentence.

There is no need for me to be classy. The McLean parent acted like a douche.

Calling FPYC scrappy is not a dig at all.

ECNL Regional League starts at U11. They killed the brand with the rollout this year. ECNL patches will be everywhere at WAG's. Kickers, Strikers, VSA, CYA, PWSI, and even STJ FCV will be rocking the badge.

VSA has handled Loudoun quite easily over the past year.

ECNL indeed starts no earlier than U13. But, teams can apparently use almost any name they want, which adds to my confusion.

Maryland United FC ECNL (U12) … played in a Labor Day tournament, but not in a league this fall
YouthSoccerRankings: https://youthsoccerrankings.us/team.html?teamId=2883618
GotSoccer: http://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/team.aspx?teamid=1043059

Maryland United FC Red (U12) … probably a lower team in the club that got "promoted" to Red once Red renamed … and is playing EDP this fall
YSR: https://youthsoccerrankings.us/team.html?teamId=3054059
GS: http://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/team.aspx?teamid=1285199

Here are the "missing" teams I mentioned earlier:

DENISON CABRAL FUTEBOL CLUBE FIRESTORM (U12) … last posted result in June
YSR: https://youthsoccerrankings.us/team.html?teamId=2313686
GS: http://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/team.aspx?teamid=1284089

BETHESDA SC ACADEMY BLUE (U12)
YSR: https://youthsoccerrankings.us/team.html?teamId=2168536
GS: http://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/team.aspx?teamid=1087201

Seems odd that multiple top 15 teams in Maryland would simply vanish over the summer, especially two in the top 5.

ECNL Regional League for U12. Silly, but true. Clubs resisted it last year, but ECNL pushed the mandate this year for U12 teams.

Not sure about the MA division, but in the NE, this league already existed as the Northeast Girls NPL. ECNL just toook control and re-named it ECNL Regional.

Moving on to other fun things, here are some 2008-specific questions that I hope someone can answer.

DC Stoddert … I think there are three girls teams … Red, Blue, and White … Do all three play in CCL? How does that work? Does one team play up a year? Does one team only play tournaments?
Lee-Mount Vernon (the new/current one) ... There is a Red team in NCSL (currently a lower U12 division) and "some other" LMVSC team in CCL? Which one is considered the top team in the club for '08 Girls?
Anyone know?

LMVSC only has one 08 girls team. They played in CCL 2 last year; NCSL this year.

Where'd they go? … Bethesda Academy Blue 08, Maryland United 08 ECNL (there is a "Red" in a lower EDP division), Denis Cabral Firestorm … I think all three were in upper EDP divisions in the spring.

Anyone know?

As an aside, seems like none of the "cool kids" are playing CCL, any more, eh?

I believe Stoddert Red is in CCL 2.

It seems excessive for second teams to have such extreme travel!
