| Yes, reaching out and asking a kid to change to your team is poaching. But I agree everyone does it and so what. |
I disagree. No one is forcing you to show up at a tryout. Now if they offer reduced fees for leaving another team - that's poaching. |
| More than half of 2020 so far has committed to top D1 or elite D3 programs. Well done boyz. |
| Can someone please post the Next Level 2020 college commitment list, thanks! |
| Is that more about the high school or the club? |
They are private school heavy. But so is ML, Crabs, blackwolf and FCA. Vlc is probably the only club team of substance that has a sizable public school presence. |
Sorry, but you didn’t answer the question. Are commits more about the high school they attend and the strength/reputation of it lax program and academics than about the club team these boys are on? I see more commits for Prep and Gonzaga than any other schools on this team (and that seems to be a trend). Just curious. |
| For this particular team, it is about both. The 2020's are comprised entirely of kids living in close proximity to Washington, DC. They consistently perform very well in the most competitive tournaments where college coaches attend. Because of where they live, they also attend the top lacrosse programs in the area and those teams play against the top competition locally and nationally. |
Which came first the chicken or the egg? Kids that are good want to play for good teams with good players. Prep/Gonzaga are historically good at lax so good kids go there. They don’t create good kids nor do they get them committed. |
And NL does? Many kids don't even stick with the same club all the way through. They often switch every few years unless they are supremely happy with their team and coaches. |
| It looks like Next Level had tryouts in July for some of its teams. Do you think they still have room on their rosters if my son couldn't make the first tryout? FYI - I spoke with the coach already and he said yes, but I wondered what others thought. Thanks |
| How were numbers at the tryouts yesterday? |
| Any attrition for 2021? |
According to email, there was 85 kids registered for the 2024 tryouts. Lots of Madlax Capital kids at tryouts. |
