At the ES where I work, most single bathrooms are labeled adults/staff only. However, exceptions are made. The signs stay so they aren’t used by 500+ children. Kids who need them know about them and it’s fine. The point is… those signs don’t necessarily mean that no kids are ever, ever allowed to use those restrooms. |
They are leaning into it because it wins them elections. Because people don’t like it. Truth hurts. Keep pushing, the Republicans will keep winning. Simple. |
“Everyone I know”. Well, with that scientific reasoning and comprehensive data analysis, my opinion has changed. |
These are strange times. What happened for prior generations is irrelevant. |
No, bigot. Eggs won them the election. It’s not a winning strategy for Arlington or VA. Better find some new material. |
Nope. Unlike the Democrats, the Republicans know how to rally their base and pull independents. If this issue wasn’t winning them votes every day, then you wouldn’t be hearing about it. You can delete all of the comments you want, you are on the losing side of this issue. https://apnews.com/article/transgender-poll-care-bathrooms-military-trump-b5c9521d3d486e87c8631a99a455df2f |
Like how prior generations of young people voted for overwhelmingly for Democrats and now they’re swinging conservative? Oh wait, election results are irrelevant because your two friends feel differently. Can’t argue with that logic. |
No one cares about children calling everyone they disagree with bigot. Although it is entertaining to observe you identify yourself on every comment. |
I would like to know these numbers as well… I don’t think it’s just one or 10 trans students by the way. I’m thinking at least around 100. The numbers have grown exponentially in just the last years. Likely APS knows the numbers, but wouldn’t share them. And yes, they will lose this battle and a lot of taxpayers money, but likely they also feared lawsuits had they not engaged. The new post pandemic holiday days have also increased and we do not know how many students actually celebrate the different holidays. APS has just followed other jurisdictions on this. They may not know, because they are not tracking religious affiliations. However they are tracking ELL and they are aware of a very large increase in Arabic speakers. I’m surprised they haven’t added Lubar New Year. My only explanation for this is that APS as a secular school system interestingly is heavily invested in religious holidays vs. cultural holidays… |
They are hopefully not fully (surgically) transitioned at this age. |
False. Young people didn’t start voting for Ds in significant #s until Obama. Before that it was much more evenly split between R & D. And guess who else has been trending D over the years? College grads. |
Nope. Trump won because idiots thought he could do something about the price of eggs. |
APS reports the demographics of students including gender. They’re online somewhere. |
Yawn. Even the NYT of all publications acknowledges that Democrats are losing voters explicitly due to this issue. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/13/us/politics/democrats-transgender-rights.html But please do keep pushing to eradicate the rights of women and girls. It’s clearly having an effect-to help Republicans. |
APS leadership is paying one of the most expensive law firms in the country a totally unknown amount of taxpayer dollars to protect either 1 or 100 children (or perhaps zero?) in our community who may or may not refuse to use a single stall bathroom. |
