I think that person meant to say no one in China is going to buy a Tesla because there will be a cheaper brand that uses stolen IP and similar design. |

| TSLA reports delivery at 335,00 for the first quarter, well below what the street was expecting. They have cyber trucks just sitting on the lot. And they are not being sold in the European markets at all. It's down 68% in Sweden. |
| ^ The US Market for the 335,000 sold vehicles was 43% for the first quarter. In the fourth quarter of 2024, the US market was 49% for the fourth quarter. So, the US market is eroding as well, but not as fast as the European market. |

Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives, typically among Tesla and Musk's biggest believers, called the report a "fork in the road moment" for the electric vehicle company
"We knew 1Q Tesla deliveries would be soft but these numbers were bad," he wrote. "We are not going to look at these numbers with rose colored glasses...they were a disaster on every metric. Refresh issues but brand crisis key." And these are "deliveries", which trails sales in time. Next quarter deliveries will show Q1 sales drop also. |
Nearly tied for 1s place in the EV business, we can expect Tesla to worth something in the neighborhood in similarly placed competitors,. maybe even with a 2x premium to credit related business lines-- so, $200B to $400B? That puts us at, as Wells Fargo says, $150 price target. |
That's a huge miss against analyst expectations. You don't usually see misses of this scale. That's a disaster for Tesla (particularly since it's not going to get better next quarter). |
13% year over year Q1 drop in deliveries worldwide. That's BEFORE tariffs kick in. Good luck with your stock based on massive growth! https://www.cnbc.com/2025/04/02/tesla-tsla-q1-2025-vehicle-delivery-and-production-numbers.html |
The Chinese are cashing in on EV sales in Europe. |
Because they were lying about self-driving, selling sub-par quality AI, and also sib-par quality cars, that other companies wouldn't be shameless enough to foist on consumers. The 'huge lead" in electric was selling monstrous cars that cost more in pollution to produce than they save by being electric. Tesla had an early success by selling a pipe dream, and now it's chickens are coming home to roost |
| $265 premarket. Seems to be the prize level that's stabilizing past week. OP was right to buy the $228 dip, but I wouldn't keep holding |
If companies want shareholders to be happy, they have to first make consumers happy. Consumers are making it known they have power and Tesla and Target were too stupid to listen. |
Trump just handed green energy to China on a platter. |
Like Elon Musk himself, TSLA fond a way to go lower. $250 premarket today. |
