| The only thing that the leaders of these clubs and leagues care about are their salaries and how to increase it. |
The whole reason for this year’s shift is because of the boys’ side with mls. Does McLean think switching to mls next2 for their boys is enough reason to exit ECNL? Doesn’t add up for me. |
| If I were Mclean which competes as a club in ECNL-RL, I'd jump at even just being able to have MLSN2. I bet the competition is way better than VPSL. |
You think NM is steering the club in a direction where he loses one of his many salaries? |
At the end of the day people are voting with their dollars, the clubs still need the families to commit in order to have success. Just take FC Virginia which morphed into TSJFC as an example. Just a year ago they were a very viable club in the area, and in just one offseason they lost enough talent across the board that their program has taken steps back. Things can happen quickly and around here there aren't really any coaches that stand out as making significant impacts on players, the area has talented players that put in work, clubs and coaches benefit by them deciding where they're playing while putting on the perception that they had significant involvement in their achievements. |
Mclean choosing to go on their own and go out for MLSN2 and GA wouldn't impact NM, he has no direct ties to Mclean Soccer other than he's a coach at FFX Onion. If Mclean departed, FFX Onion would still exist, likely partnering with GFR to replace Mclean. NM would still be collecting checks from FFX Onion, Total Futbol, and GFR just like he's doing now. |
| I think McLean is looking to refresh and keep all the kids in the program. If they go GA, they will have to basically forget about 2012s and up and hope that 2013 and younger stick around |

Do all these clubs believe that entry into GA, which will be way more diluted if all the rumors are true, and entry into mls2 will keep paying customers around?
I guess many of the sheep will be fooled to stay at their home clubs with all of the naming changes and their lack of understanding. Sounds like I’ve heard this story before. The amount of talent in the area doesn’t change and they will always consolidate as the better players want to play with each other. So the 3 remaining ECNL clubs and Loudoun/SYC essentially become the top destinations with all other clubs seen as second level. 5 “elite” clubs seems to be the max for this area and 4 might be the better number. |
| Not a chance Union is leaving ECNL with all the shading they did on their instagram this week re ECNL v GA recruits |
of course, thats bryc and vienna parents upset mclean is is trying to leave ECNL. |
Except McLean runs the insta. |
| Not anymore Einstein |
Our TD said this in a parent meeting. We were told the issue was for clubs that are alliances and have multiple clubs that feed into the GA team. Does the alliance get one GA2 team, or does each feeder club get one? So - no surprise in the works, just not done. |
| What is GA 2? Is there really such a league? |
Not currently, but maybe yes in the future. |
