Lock him up indictment FL

Joking aside, they aren't missing the obstruction. They are choosing to willfully ignore it. The truth is that the security powers that be are willing to work with you if you honestly screw up and come to them with a mea culpa. Not only was Trump taking the documents not a screw up, but intentional, he then chose to lie, have others lie on his behalf, and hide them.

People like to point at the Reality Winner case. She's not in jail because she accidentally took a document out of the building that got mixed in her personal stuff. She's in jail because she removed it intentionally.

To be fair, she was trying to warn the world of Trump-Russia, and for that, Trump jailed her for 5 years.

On pg 11 of the indictment, there is this text msg by "Trump Employee 2" when they are discussing moving the boxes:

"Yes - anything that is not the beautiful mind paper boxes can definitely go to storage."

WTF are the "beautiful mind" paper boxes?
What does that even mean?

I think that is what Mar A Lago staff called Trump’s boxes of memorabilia, documents, etc. from the White House that he insisted on keeping there. Maybe referencing the movie A Beautiful Mind about John Nash who was brilliant but delusional.

Ken White raised that idea on this week's Serious Trouble - he thinks that it's possible

The judge may just be that much of a corrupt diehard, but she must realize that this trial will be an American history event that will be discussed for the next 200 years (assuming the world doesn't implode). She will unnecessarily tie herself to that by doing so. The smart thing for her to do is get out of this altogether.

She’s not getting out of this, nor should she. A bench trial would be perfect and make a joke out of the Biden DOJ. If at all possible she should sweep in the Jan 6 stuff and dismiss with prejudice on that to ruin all Federal prosecutions against rPOTUS.

Even a corrupt judge can't save him. He'll want a jury and try to pull together as many Trump crazies as he can.

Regardless of political party, I have always believed that Clinton, both Bushes, Reagan, Obama, Carter, Ford, Nixon, and Johnson (all the presidents in my lifetime), despite their differences in policy positions and various imperfections, truly loved this country. Trump only loves himself. I do not understand why so many MAGAs (including the ones to which I am related) cannot see that.

Because they hate the Federal government - any government - and by extension hate the very concept of a “United States”.

All of the evidence is from Trump's staff giving testimony under oath and recordings from people in the room with him. The transcript troll is hilarious because that recording came from researchers for Mark Meadow's book and testimony about the recording was given under oath by Trump's own people. I'm not sure how a judge is going to help someone when all the evidence is their own stupid testimony as well as affidavits from their own associates.

But they love the ACA, the federal highway system, drinkable water, medicare/medicaid and a host of other Federal "giveaways"

Jesus; what a dump.

I agree

The people here are too evil and crooked to even care.

Even you guys aren’t stupid enough to think the cases are similar.

They aren't. Biden should never have removed classified documents, given he never had to power to declassify - ever. So finding them in his garage is worse. Removing the photo from this thread is an admission of that.

I'd really encourage you to read the full indictment. The Biden "case" and this one aren't remotely similar. In fact, none of the Trump charges involve the initial removal of the classified info. They only charged what he did after the subpoena.

They never are. Again, because you seem to be too dumb to understand. Biden should NEVER have had classified documents ANYWHERE in his home. EVER.

But Trump should have? The documents were taken to his home after he was no longer president. That was okay?

He had the power to declassify. Biden never had that power as VP or as a Senator.

“This is secret information. Look, look at this.” —Donald J Trump, post-presidency

Please, can I hear that tape as well?

So arrest Biden too, right? Trump had the power to declassify and no, he didn’t need permission.

Could you translate that into rational language?

Biden, as then senator and then VP, had classified documents that he could not have declassified at any point in time. So he should be arrested right?

No. Like Pence they did not knowingly have classified documents. They cooperated fully when asked and the documents were secured. And had Trump done that, he would not be indicted.

ALL of the actions described in the indictment occurred AFTER the request for the documents in 2021. If he had just returned them when requested, nothing in this 27 count indictment would exist.

I’d post a more lengthy response but it seem the oh powerful one if blocking names, words, combinations of words, etc. in an effort to hide what he doesn’t want known.

Thank you for letting me know that a document crime can become a plea deal and admitting a huge double standard

He was allowed to plead to a misdemeanor and got probation

All this matters.

Trump could have turned over these documents and he wouldn't have been charged with anything. About this.

All this matters.

A bunch of "Lock her up" types are now digging around for every example of lenient prosecution they can find, but Trump opined on such matters extensively during his presidency, and his positions have been included in the indictment. How much time he does is debatable, but there is no way he can avoid a felony conviction.

Again, those matter. Reduced to a misdemeanor for someone who literally stole classified documents and used them for prostitution purposes. Please justify.

He took a plea deal? Which Trump will never do?

Why did he even get such a sweet plea deal. What did his girl do with the documents? Probably sold them for nefarious purposes. If you want a definition of treason, that is it. But he worked for Obama so give him a plea

What Trump does and does not do is not relevant. What’s relevant is equal application of law. Here we have a man that literally sold classified documents for sex and gets off lightly, while Trump allegedly said “look at these secret documents” (Lordy there are tapes ) and that’s the most horrid thing you’ve ever heard.

Just Google it, it isn’t a mystery. Paula Broadwell was a military intelligence officer who was having an affair with David Petraeus while she was writing a book about him. He shared classified documents with her for the book. They got busted and negotiated plea bargains, but it ended their careers and their ability to get rich and famous off the ex-military gravy train of consulting and punditry.

It had a much worse impact on her career than his.

Not right at all, given his responsibilities .

But that is his these things usually go down.

Given his responsibilities? He was the CIA DIRECTOR. Talk about a whitewash.

Hello. Can you tell us whether the charges are the same? Did Petraeus try to hide the documents after the government came calling?

Trump could have turned over everything when first asked and he would not have been charged. But he didn’t. If he is given a plea deal with these charges will he take them?

Personally I would have no problem with Petraeus being locked up. So we are agreed on that. You do terrible things that endanger national security, you serve time. No plea deals.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA. You are actually comparing the fact that the CIA director at that time traded classified documents for sex with ‘trying to hide documents’? I can’t even with this stupidity.

Yeah, I think the Florida indictment is only the first salvo and there is an ongoing investigation into what happened to the documents that flew to Bedminster.

Show me the man and I’ll find you the crime.

OMG - photos and newspapers. Hang him high

The indictment says the classified information in the photo has been removed. Perhaps it's the paper with the black bar across it.

The black bar!! That tells me EVERYTHING. Dear LORD, you people are completely gullible.

Again, so are you saying Trump didn’t have classified documents even though he turned some over later? Just trying to understand your thought process here.

My thought process, again, is that Obama, Biden, Pence and Clinton had them too. But somehow that’s “OK” and “Different”

Why were you insinuating that the boxes in the pictures didn’t have classified documents then? You seemed pretty focused on that.

Not focused, laughing at those who see closed boxes and a black bar and scream AHA! Please tell me how it was legal for Biden to have classified documents in his garage.

Stop beating a dead horse! You are screaming your ignorance and embarrassing your family and one friend as they recognize you even on an anonymous chat room.

Oh, I’m sure that PP is SO ashamed
