Why do staunch republicans hate electric vehicles?

Temporary, non-scalable solution. Hydrogen will power cars, trucks, trains and ocean going vessels by the 2050s. It is the real future due to scalability and ready made infrastructure. Gas stations become hydrogen stations over time.

Musk is a modern day PT Barnum.

What? How is tesla not scalable? If you live on a coast, there are enough tesla superchargers to completely eliminate any rational concerns about range. My tesla charges generally outlast my bladder's capacity on a long trip.

Because they are regressive and not thinking of our country’s economic future.

If everyone adopted them, then the electricity demand would crash the grid.

Tesla type EV not effectively scalable in size of vehicle. No trains, ships or planes. Batteries become to large and heavy for power needed.

All the more the need for a distributed, decentralized smart grid with multiple different types of generation rather than relying on a handful of antiquated 75 year old coal fired power plants. The current grid is a liability.

Battery technologies are continuing to evolve. I'm not concerned.

Your generalizing and stereotyping, Repub here and I own one. Want me to stereotype you?

Yes so glad you posted this. As all republicans know you have to plug the car in all the time while driving. All EVs have very long power cords. This is why you can not change lanes when there are a lot of EVs on the road. I am disappointed you did not point out how dangerous electric is.

This. We are vulnerable with the current grid. Texas is the frontrunner in solar and wind right now because they know this quite well.

Distracting the proles from real issues. Nobody in real life gives a damn what car someone else drives. We have both electric and ICE cars, it doesn't matter. It's like caring what brand of jeans someone is wearing. Do not care. Waste of mindshare. Just drowning out real issues with this fake theater.
