Go to hell. 318 pages and you are still not satiated yet. You are truly grotesque.

Why is this hitting such a nerve with you?

Because some people genuinely thought Harry and Meghan had altruistic reasons for leaving the royal family and that they would be bringing their magical prince and princess charm to uplift the sad, dreary lives of us plebeians.

When it turned out they're really leaving the royal family for the oldest passion of all, greed.

Only according to your blackened soul.

You’ve been deleted before. Go troll elsewhere.

Who’s trolling? Prove she was a liquid millionaire. You can’t. She wasn’t. She was a broke nobody.

Did someone say she was a millionaire? I saw someone comment her salary per episode. You seem to know a lot about her life and make a lot of assumptions. Samantha is that you?

It’s been repeated 100 times in this thread that she was a multi-millionaire with at least a $3M net worth.

That is nothing, especially for her extravagant lifestyle. I am just a few years older and our homes alone (paid off) are $3mill. We have 401ks, 529s, savings, pension, and HHI $500k. I am not looking at $27 million houses. Lol. This all not an unusual net worth for UMC people that live in DC/dmv and that is enough to run in those circles. Do they even have health insurance now that they’ve been cut-off. Is that why they chose to live in Canada over the US?

Harry and Meghan will have to bring in quite a substantial income to keep up with their current lifestyles -- while the Prince of Wales will be financing them through his private estate, the Duchy of Cornwall, this is expected to be in the low millions and may not be permanent.

You sound quite unhinged.

Actually, now that they are unemployed and financially independent that’s not a dumb question. Have you ever looked at your health insurance bills/statements and see what services, hospitalizations, medicine costs without coverage. My relative’s cancer drugs were $70k for a single infusion. Cancer treatment is $100ks without insurance. Something as simple as an ER visit for the flu/high fever with a newborn —-thousands. antibiotics $700k w/out insurance.

Canada makes sense for the unemployed vs the US.

They’re still going to be propped up by the Bank of Dad, so they’re hardly destitute.

So he sold out his country to make lots of money. At least to try to make lots of money. Even though he already has 40 million.

Is he started a sentence with "So" yes I will judge him. No editor? No publicist? No wife to proof read?

This was a speech that someone transcribed, so some things are understandable. But I agree they need a crisis management PR firm to smooth very obvious rough edges.

Here's the full speech.

I found it very warm, thoughtful, and moving. Note he said “The decision I have made.” I don’t think that is a slip of the tongue. This was his choice. It deepens my admiration for him.

He added: “I have accepted this, knowing that it doesn’t change who I am or how committed I am. But I hope that helps you understand what it had to come to, that I would step my family back from all I have ever known, to take a step forward into what I hope can be a more peaceful life.”

A more peaceful life shaking people down for cash and hitting up hollywood for voice over roles for Meghan

Look, Harry really did have a choice. He could have taken his wife and child and moved to a quiet ranch or estate in the country. With his 40 million plus whatever from Charles and future inheritances, he had way more than enough to live in the lap of luxury (environmentally conscious luxury but even so). He could live quietly with his wife and son and socialize with a small group of discreet friends, periodically appear in select documentaries about the environment or Africa or appear on the royal balcony. Eventually the paparazzi would get bored of his dull life and move on to fresher meat. They always do.

But nope. He didn't make that choice. He's going to go to hawken his identity and grovel at Hollywood's doors for roles for his wife so that they can stay on the red carpet and have thousands of cameras chasing after them, but that's still ok as long as they make millions out of it.

Either Harry is really dense (probaby), not very bright (probably) or he's completely besotted with a wife who is self absorbed (possibly) and pushed him into this (quite possibly).

Same - also I feel like the 'many months' points to the fact that this process started within the past year. My guess is - right after Archie was born.

I think Meghan and Harry put up with the media attacks on HER (uncomfortably so) but after the same British media officials started posting negative articles about their newborn they decided it was time to leave.

Off the top of my head I saw - Criticism for lack of photos, criticism over his godparents, calling Archie a monkey, saying he would grow up a brat away from his cousins...

Just so many things and he's only 8 months old. It wasn't just about protecting Meghan anymore.

If it truly was Harry’s grand plan to exit, then I wonder if Meghan might eventually blame him for it? She signed up to be princess.

Actually it’s not your concern. Nothing about their life is your concern as it doesn’t affect you. Worrying about their health insurance makes you a nut.

I think it hits a nerve with every person of color who was told they were being “sensitive” when faced with racist treatment, or worse that we were imagining it because really, we live in a post-racial world. Then there are the people who gaslight you and say “Prove it.”

It resonates with everyone who was treated less or who eventually quit a job or organization when the micro aggressions got to be too much. It hits a nerve when you’ve been in position to defend your humanity to racist jerks.

Or, maybe, Harry and Meghan are just greedy people who want to exploit their royal status to make lots of money and used the claims of racism, real or not, as an excuse.

I guess you conveniently forgot the fact that they tried that?

Harry and Meghan moved to the Cotswold countryside - a 1 hr and 45 min commute from London - in March 2019 because the press hired a helicopter to fly low over their house, take pictures of every room, and splashed the house + location on national news. (Notice none of the press turned DOWN those photos either).

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/05/16/harry-meghans-safety-security-seriously-undermined-helicopter/

The Grade II listed farmhouse, tucked away in four acres of private land in Oxfordshire, was rented by Harry and Meghan as they prepared for the arrival of their first child.

The royal couple were said to have selected the property due to the high levels of seclusion it afforded, which promised to keep away the prying lenses of photographers.

However, their plans for a life of rural solitude were dealt a blow when the location was made public on January 9, prompting a celebrity news agency to hire a helicopter to investigate.

Splash News and Pictures flew at a “low altitude” over the farmhouse to take pictures and video, which gave a view directly into the bedroom, a privacy case launched by Harry claimed.

The shots were published by various news outlets in both print and online on January 11 in a move which was said to have “very seriously undermined” the couple’s security.

You're aware that criticism was because they were behaving very differently with their baby than royals had before. Of course there was talk. They could have weathered it, in time. They didn't bother.

That's fine. They can have their privacy. They'll have some notoriety for a while. Then they'll be gone.

That ain't changing when they pimp themselves out on the red carpet in Hollywood. They ain't exactly moving to Vancoucer to escape the press or to live quietly. So they're not trying seriously.

If they really wanted privacy, they just needed to give it time. Whoever Harry married, the wife was always going to attract attention for a few years. Will and Kate handled it pretty well, hiding out in Anglesley for a few years. Harry didn't try that.

Whatever the reasons, the recent statement Harry made clearly tells us $$$$$ is a major reason for their stepping down as members of the royal family.

Netflix needs high quality content and judging by that speech . Let’s just say they will need some very talented people to prop them up.

It appears the palace machine is trying to salvage whatever they can of his reputation.

Yes, the Palace cares deeply what you think of Prince Harry and Meghan. They released a flock of doves with hand-written notes in their mouths to be delivered to each pp on this thread whose opinions mattered the most to the Palace vis-a-vis the reputation of the Prince. I know because yours was shot by mistake and his bloody carcass came hurtling through the air and dropped on my patio. Your name was on the tiny scroll in it's mouth. It's tied with a single silk strand. Should I open it and read it to you?

Sorry that stung, don’t be angry. Yes the BRF is really just national mascots, their image is their greatest asset and their role is an antiquated and delicate bone in a modern world. They indeed care very much.
