I have been trolling for over a week now but I am now compelled to reply. This was beautifully written however on the bottom it says
" In lieu of flowers, donations in the names of Savvas, Amy, and Philip may be made to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral (to benefit The Girls Orphanage of Lamia, Greece) https://membership.faithdirect.net/enrollment/LiveTransaction_frame.php?aid=19343, 2815 36th Street NW, Washington, DC 20007

What about the housekeeper where is her gofundme link. Rude

I agree that they could have easily included the housekeeper's gofundme page at the bottom and that would have been a nice thing to do. However, this was not an obituary for her, it was for the Savopoulos family members, so it makes sense that it's not included, IMO

Agree. However, I am sure they have been advised not to by attorneys. It does not mean they have not contributed.

I am also not going to throw stones at a family who seemed to generously help others. It could be their generous, kind nature led to their deaths.

I am sure they were generous with their paid staff as well. There is no reason for NG to be involved. I am sure she earned a lot more than $20,000 over the years. I will withhold my judgment on others for right now.

Yes, not a time to judge. I see the obituary was written by Mr. Savapoulos father, who must be completely heartbroken but also having to stay strong for his granddaughters. I'm sure the family will contribute in time.

Wow - the judging. Let's see how civically responsible you are when you are torn inside out and wrenched with grief. Give these poor people a break! Yes, they have money, but they have experienced just about the worst thing anyone can, and if they aren't looking around for other needy people, I, for one, totally understand! Let them heal. The rest of us can make sure that Veralicia gets home.

Also, Gofundme pages are not verified. Maybe they didn't want to link to something they were not able to clearly check out. I'm sure they've contributed.

Judging not me. But they had the forethought to enter places to donate to. If those weren't posted it wouldn't have crossed my mind. Like thay say charity begins at home.

It's not the housekeeper's obit...they mentioned her, but it's not her obit. Please, people...back away from this poor unfortunate family. No one knows what they're doing on the side for the housekeeper's family...and it's probably plenty.
The situation is awful without everyone bashing the dead.

I'm glad you are not judging. That poor grandfather. No parent should EVER have to bury their child, nor their grandchild. His own namesake, little Philip.

Indeed. Who on earth could judge a family going through this? Seriously? What hardships have YOU gone through this week? Let the rest of us take care of Vera. Jeez.

Really. What happened to her is horrific, but I bet their preferences for contributions aren't listed at the end of her obit. They worked (and died) together but they had their own lives and families for goodness sake.
