| It seems like everyone here makes SO MUCH MONEY and I don't get it. Are you all lawyers? We are living on a HHI of $200K and it seems like we are destitute compared to everyone here. I work at a non-profit organization and make a paltry $75K a year. Should I be looking for a new job? I've been in the workforce for almost 10 years. |

it was amusing to see people bash those who pay their housekeeper 55,000 in the other thread
Do they even know their are postdoc slaves that work at least 60 hours a week for 35,000 without benefits??? |

I got my first real post PhD job at age 31 and was making 50k.
I'm now 44 and about to negotiate an offer that starts at 110k. Not a high earner, for this area, but I have a pretty great job. Money is not everything, although I never realized how much it helped until I had kids. Try not to obsess, OP. For every family with a HHI of 400k, there are 3 on food stamps. You're just not comparing yourselves to them. |
