My job is DCUrban professional poster. I don't have a job but my husband makes $900,000k per hour. We are thinking on retiring at $500k a year but think it would be a downgrade. Also, we fund our $401k's at 350% because of a special act of Congress just for us. We both went to Ivies.

Me-Fed (7yrs) 42-Claims Examiner-72,000
Husband-Sr. Financial Analyst 44-95,000

We both feel underpaid, but we moved here from a much lower paying area, in our late 30's. We will never catch up to peers that started making DC money early on.

Probably works for agency funded by bank fees. No taxpayer money.

And yes, with two kids in daycare and a house in the close in burbs bought in '08, we feel like $250k isn't the money we always thought it would be...

Public relations (in house professional services) $95 k + 5 k bonus. Feel like I could make more elsewhere but I have good flexible hours here.
