This guy I have been dating always has to be right. It gets on my last nerve(s)...and then some. Plus, he always has to have the final word on everything.
We currently are having a debate over something which may seem minor in theory, but he won't let go. I have decided if I am right, to let him go....No worries, we have only been dating for six weeks so it's not like I will be crying into a pint of Ben & Jerry's soon.
Okay, I like to use hand sanitizer after washing my hands, he thinks it is very weird and unusual to do so and thinks only one or the other is necessary. I like to do both because it just feels cleaner. Secondly, I have bad breath a lot ((!)) and prefer to chew gum after I brush my teeth. Perhaps for extra insurance against my bad breath. He says this is very uncommon and that it is just weird to chew gum immediately after brushing my teeth. Finally, when we eat out (not high end places...More like a Denny's-type place), sometimes when I am talking I can tell I have spinach or something else stuck in my teeth and get self-conscious over it. So I use my fingernail and rub my teeth a little bit to get the food out. He told me this is just bad table manners and grosses everyone out. He said the proper thing to do is leave the table, get a toothpick and go to the restroom and take it out there. I also like to put on lip gloss at the table occasionally and he says that is unacceptable too. What say all of you?? |
| He's right, but you should break up anyway. You both get on each other's nerves too much for only six weeks of knowing each other. |
|
In all of these instances he is correct. You should dump him anyway though.
Also, for the breath, try a tongue scraper. |

I think he is right on all counts.
However, except for the one about picking your teeth at dinner (very rude) I don't see how what you are doing affects him, so the fact that he is being so critical especially at this stage would give me pause. |
| He's right. You should talk to your dentist or a doctor about the bad breath. It could indicate health issues. |
| If you two are teetering on the edge of ending the relationship over this trivial nonsense I say end it. No way you guys survive any serious conflicts just would be inviting more drama and headache. |
+1 Goodness, you two are already arguing like an old married couple after only six weeks? sheesh. |
| OP have you posted about this boyfriend before? Are you in your early 40's? |
Yes. It's the Eminem Nanny. |

That's what I feared. |

| He's right on all counts. |
| I think he is right especially on number 3 ew |
| OP, your boyfriend is right and your behavior is kind of weird and gross (the picking at the table thing). But just break up anyway because you don't like each other. |
