Tyler has no kids and like Jen has a super flexible job.

Why isn’t he with his girlfriend on NYE? A day or so after she had to endure the wedding anniversary of her 26 year marriage?

What’s so important that he can stay away?

Tyler can’t celebrate NYE this year because he is in mourning.

The hero he never knew he had.

He didn’t change. He still thrives on sex (as evidenced by all the Tina boob posts LOL) and respect and hyping his people. Simple. He went after it the wrong way when Jen wouldn’t give him any of it, and everyone paid for that. But Jen on the other hand is who denied him respect and sex, and after losing him, all she apparently wants to give Tyler is respect and sex, but no one can tell if he even cares…

Wow. This is the kind of misogyny that made me leave evangelicalism. Christian men love to blame their women when they stray…and the church -and it’s women - pile right on. Maybe it’s for a sense of control- if I’m blonde, sexy, and submissive enough then my husband won’t leave me? I don’t know but it’s not healthy and not the way Christ treated women.

Ha!
The world was begging for an hot take regarding the passing of Barbara Walters from Tyler. I mean it’s totally normal for middle aged straight men to be huge Barbara Walters fanboys.

If my husband performed this way it would be the biggest turn off.

Also he opens and closes with “we just knew her as Barbara”…I hear the name Barbara, and I think Barbara Streisand, Barbara Mandrell, or Barbara Bush before I get to Walters. Walters barely inches ahead of Barbara Hershey (“Beaches”) in my book. Her affair with Fidel Castro and her complicity in creating the train wreck that is “The View” leaves little room for gushing.

Disagreeing, respectfully. Back to whomever said society has long been trying to sell a lie. If you hated marriage and were trying to break up marriages or get people to quit fighting for them, one strategy might be to try and convince women that divorced life is sexy and fun and fulfilling (it’s not. been there.). Another strategy might be trying to convince women that they are somehow caving or submitting or weaker if they cater to their man’s needs. Newsflash: sex is fun for both involved.

Say what you want, but I have ears and eyes: My friends who have committed sex-filled relationships with their husbands are happier and healthier than the bitter women who have left men for “not being enough” or “expecting too much”… 🙄 It doesn’t strike me as a misogynistic evangelical problem. No one said anything about blonde, but is that why Jen’s hair has been lighter lately??—Trying to interest Tyler? Maybe, just hear me out, maybe, the path Feminist Jen and Bachelor Tyler have chosen isn’t as desirable. Period. Christ also didn’t instruct women to be totally self-sufficient and wealthy and powerful. America did.

Now I want to watch Beaches. Also, The View is the worst.

There is a lot of wisdom here.

As Jen had to always be winning in life she had to make her divorced life seem like it’s a pure dream.

Many of us know the truth though. I know the truth. It’s a largely sad and desperate and scary life and the jealous comparisons you made even as a married versus other women is amped up ten fold. Jen can never be honest.

There’s more true wisdom in these couple of paragraphs than in all 14 of Jen’s books.

I had never heard of her, but I just scrolled through her page after seeing this thread. WOW. How can someone make being “genuine” into such a nauseating performance? People actually subject themselves to this content? Why not just eat margarine with a spoon?

Brandon has a lot of fans in this thread. He is no prize. He is an addict and a cheater. No amount of “sex and funds” from Jen could have “fixed” him. This sort of thinking is prevalent in evangelical communities, though most people don’t say the quiet part out loud like this. The problem is, it just never works this way. I shouldn’t be laughing at this, but I definitely had a chuckle. Provided sex and funds 🤣

I think the pp was being tongue-in-cheek there about sex and funds, so laughter was warranted, even by the evangelicals. It wasn’t about fixing Brandon. That same comment also says only God can do the fixing because humans fail each other and really none of us are a prize. Maybe on our best days? If Brandon’s missteps had to do with needing sex and money management, it’s simply ironic that Jen now loves sex and money management. She’s making more money than ever and learning/telling all about how to save and invest while doing podcasts on sex and wearing stripper shoes. The joke of it is: wouldn’t it have been easier to choose to be sexy money-savvy wife to Brandon instead of girlfriend to Tyler (who doesn’t even care)? She and Brandon obviously had a blast together, js. There is over a decade of book and social media evidence of that.
