Does Mr Ugh ever realize the absurdity? He is talking smack about different levels of youth soccer. Meanwhile, the difference between rec and all of US club (including MLSN academies) is a pimple compared to the massive leap between MLSN and MLS professional soccer . Then another big jump to get from MLS to any random 7th or 8th tier leagues in Europe or S. America. And so on…

But to add a little more.

There are a few non MLS Homegrown clubs that hold their own against them. It will be interesting to aee how theae clubs end up BY or SY. If they stay BY its essentially saying that Homegrown is its own league. But Even with BY and SY the Homegrown teams would just play up 6 months against MLS P2P clubs so its not that big of a deal.

So this isn’t the guy who says he works for an mlsn club responding? You’ve got your terminology mixed up. There are mls elite academies, mls homegrown/mlsn1, and mls academy division/mlsn2.

The SY is a great chess move by ECNL. MLSN has to react to move to SY too otherwise it would become irrelevant to youth soccer p2p within 2 years. For each region, it only takes a few big clubs to switch to totally destroy a league.

What planet are you from? If you're a youth and you want to play soccer professionally in America you'll need to go through MLS.

Switching from BY to SY is more of a distraction than anything else. ECNL gathered up all the littles leagues and said theres more of us than there are of you. The littles leagues want SY because its easier for them to group by grade.

You have no idea the places mls academies are scouting from. They don’t care about leagues, they would scout a rec game if there was a freak athlete there.

MLS players go pro and play in college.

Its not pro only.

If you were a college coach would you want players that played against potential pro players or other players their age only?

This is absurd. There is no way MLS Clubs are limiting where they scout from.
