Harris didn't endorse Biden before the CA primary and doesn't appeal in the states Biden needs: WI-MI-OH-PA. I like her, but she'd be a poor strategic choice and hasn't earned anything from him (unlike several of the other names proposed).

Yeah I think you absolutely need to be strategic here and pick someone who will help in the swing states.

Unlike Amy and Pete, Kamala has the foresight to drop out and winnow down the field early on. I’m sure Biden was grateful for one fewer competitor. And she has the potential to motivate the black vote without which Biden can’t win.

Biden doesn't need her to win the black vote. He needs a VP to help win swing states and she ain't it.

Kamala dropped out because she ran out of $$$

She had more money than Biden did at that point, and probably half the other candidates at that point. She dropped out because she didn’t think she could win.

Her nasty attack on Joe backfired.

She could have remedied that by endorsing him but chose not to.

Stacy Abrams.
Since the young people will apparently not come out to vote.

I suspect he understands that her friendship with Elizabeth Warren is important to her. And I suspect Harris is on his short list.

It’s widely known she dropped out because of poor campaign management and lack of funds to continue. Joe doesn’t need Harris. He needs (and very much likes) Pete Buttigieg.

Pete Buttigieg would be a pretty rad ticket. And btw a lot of “Republican lite” and Independents I know really like Pete. So, it could be a winner.

Joe needs a VP who can help with 1) Latino voters, 2) young voters, and 3) socialists/progressives. He needs an AOC type of VP. He can have a poor man version of AOC in Andrew Yang.

Yeah, just go ahead and kick the women, the minorities, and the liberals (I’m never Bernie, btw) in thenteeth. Fck you all, “he reminds me of my son” is NOT acceptable.

Yang, like Mayor Pete and Stacy Abrams, is not experienced enough to backstop a 70something President.

With Joe's behavior, Veep takes on a new importance.

Klobuchar for the hundredth time. Their exchange when she endorsed him spoke volumes.
