What is the point of bragging about your success if your competition sucks so bad Bobby?

You lose to PDA and Tophat and you lose to them badly. FCV beats mediocre clubs in a mediocre league. When they play quality competition and lose, fights break out on the sidelines because the parents don't understand that they are paper tigers and all their Twitter praises are nothing more than hubris.

This is just false. Period.

Are you the same poster who posts this like once a day? It’s like you have some vested interest in seeing the club fail. No one else seems to be rooting as hard against another club except you. Lots of good players and parents are sticking it out. Just let it go.

Well, when you pay your deposit before such an announcement is made you are a bit locked in at this point.

And I don’t think Spirit parents are necessarily rooting for the demise of FCV as much offering honest perspective as parents who have gone through this before. Spirit was also purchased by a millionaire who also made promises. It is wise for FCV parents to be skeptical and be critical this coming year. Make note of how the goal posts get moved throughout the year.

Does Sunday, regen practice during the season in the fall bleed into one weeknight in the spring? Does one futsal practice in Loudoun during the fall turn into two a night over the winter?

Do changes in branding occur slowly?

But the smugness that FCV parents demonstrated during Spirit’s situation while simultaneously ignoring the cautionary tale is baffling. Has anyone really asked why FCV was purchased? Why it was sold is understandable but why St James purchased it is really the only question that will truly answer FCVs future.

Yes. And there isn't a post on this board that is correct.

Then what is the answer?

Why did the St. James purchase FCV?

Regardless of why, TSJFCV parents should accept that fact that this is the last year of training at Evergreen. By next year all training will be in Springfield (all Winter training this year will be at TSJ).

And even if that happens (which it won't since TSJ doesn't have enough field space), what is your point? Should players that play for the top girls teams in the area (all FCV teams U13 and above) should leave that success and pathway to join a club that is worse purely for some convenience? You are the one that should accept facts.

As time goes on, the player make up for the TSJFCV will transition away from Loudoun County but players that want to play on the best teams and are already on those teams are NOT moving to Loudoun to play for a crap team right in the middle of recruiting years.

Everything changes. Loudoun used to have the best teams and then top players left for FCV and DA. Not a stretch to think some will leave again. Just as coaches have no loyalty to players (see FCV, McLean coaches hiding in bushes to watch and recruit older players who have been developed elsewhere), players have no loyalty, either. TSJFCV 05 roster jumped from 18 this year to at least 21 for next year. Just a sign of what’s to come, huge rosters, kids sitting out each week. Not really a draw for new players. Unless, of course, they love being joysticked by their coach from kick off until the final whistle. Thank God they don’t have to implement their training into game action.
Currently, TSJFCV has the best record in the area, but seeing their results across the board in Showcase games, it’s hard to call them one of the best clubs. Self praise is no praise TSKFCV parent.

You must not be looking at the right results...FCV played against the top teams in the country at the last showcase and did very well.

This sounds like someone whose daughter didn't get an offer Like most of those grumbling over here.

Not sure why folks don't understand the TSJ partnership is to expand the player pool with other expansion coming soon.

Just wait for it!

Geez, when did watching your team lose 4-0 and 3-0 equate doing “quite well”. If you’re going to claim you’re a top team, show up at game time.

The 16/17 team did struggle in Colorado...I just looked. But the U14s and U15s did well against very good teams. Bottom line is, in the DC Metro, there is not a girls club that is even in the same conversation as FCV across all the ECNL/GDA age groups. That is not even debatable. So unless you are planning on moving your DD out of the area to somewhere far away from here, your argument that FCV struggled in one age group at the showcase is stupid. Take any other local club out to that showcase and the results would be horrifying.

Don’t forget the Penn Fusion showcase where the 05 FCV results were “horrifying”. The play was some of the worst out there and parents attacked each other on the sidelines with racial slurs and words like “your daughter sucks”. Regardless of win/loss record, that’s a disgraceful culture to allow your child to be a part of.
And, don’t act like that was an isolated incident. During the 06 FCV/WSVA game, the FCV coach actually told one of his own players that she was “an embarrassment to the DA”. She’s 12.
But, whatever floats your boat. Keep your kids in that kind of culture and they’ll grow up to be as miserable as those coaches and parents are.

I wouldn't call them horrifying. PDA worked the 05 team pretty well. But that PDA team beats everyone pretty soundly.
There were no racial slurs, just arguing.
I have not heard of the 06 incident either.
Every club has issues, FCV is not different. Parents are passionate about there kids. I see more joysticking, arguing and parent involvement from lower level play (NPL, NCSL, some ECNL, middle school, high school) than at the DA level.
You either have not experienced the 'culture' at FCV or are merely going on rumors by parents whose kids did not get an offer and are bitter.

The display of the 05’s was awful. They fell apart under the pressure. Parents did more than argue, there were racial slurs. The 06 “incident” definitely happened. And, Bobby joysticks every age group he coaches from kick off to final whistle. Just go watch a tape of one of those games and see for yourself. It’s extremely annoying and surprising that he does it week after week- maybe that’s why his players don’t like him.
Iff that’s what you want and what your daughter needs, great. Just don’t deny it happens and try to play it off like “it’s worse other places”.

I can guarantee no racial slurs. Unless you were there, it’s all rumor and if you were there then you are lying. Too bad your kid didn’t get an offer for her, good for the rest of us.

Not lying. But again, believe what you want. Unless you’re the dad who threw the slur and are trying to cover it up. Either way, it happened. My kid got an offer and turned it down because, well, the parents are awful people. Great for her. Facts.

I was not part of the altercation, but was at the game and standing next to them.

As were many of us.

The sheer number of FCV parents in the various WSVA threads never fails to amaze.

What was the slur? Come out with it already.
Its put up or shut up time.

You are tempting them to make more things up. Too easy to fabricate behind the anonymity of a keyboard.

30 pages and it will die out the same way the last one did. Jimmy parents trying to make themselves feel better.

If you were there you would know who was involved in the fight. Perhaps you should instead ask the parent the comment was directed towards.

I don't get it either. I also don't get what they pay so much to subsidize someone else's child's soccer. It's just an odd culture in that club.

Using a pejorative term like "Jimmy" makes it clear that you aren't here to discuss anything. You're here to rabble-rouse. Let me know if you want me to use more primitive words like "jimmy" in the future to match your vocabulary skills.

LOL, looks like someone had a nerve poked by the St Jimmy comment. When do the new unis get previewed? Or is that coming next year, like the practices in Springfield?
