Another parent that thinks their kids’ team and club is the best. Pure gold. |
No, the priority is winning while attempting to give players time to be shown when feasible. Unlike in the past, the ECNL/DA showcases go towards standings. For example: Showcase games count towards teams' overall standings, and the slate of stellar showdowns at the event will prove critical to teams as they begin their final pushes towards the Girls' Academy's 32 playoff berths, awarded to the top three teams in each of seven divisions as well as 11 wild card teams. (Apr 18, 2019) I could go on about the DA CUP, etc. Do you really believe, for one second, that FCV plays friendlies to lose or experiment? They know exactly what they have. Their rosters are virtually unchanged year after year in the older age groups. You think Maryland United didn't play to beat FCV? You think VDA and Bethesda were just kicking the ball around while chasing butterflies and giggling? The games were played. The kids competed. The results are the results. Good, bad or indifferent. Would the results be the same in the future? Don't know and don't care. There are three results: Win / Lose / tie If it wasn't a blowout, then it was good competition. Period. |
Well said (insert the clapping emoji) The notion that FCV only played the Friendly’s to experiment is laughable and it’s diminishing the kids that are on the bench Because what I’ve heard is FCV is the most amazing developmental academy out there and their bench is just as strong as their top 11. FCV dad or mom stop trying to prove that you’re the best around it’s not proven you’re not the best around you’re just like every other club at this level sometimes you lose some sometimes you win some get over yourself and stop living vicariously through your daughter. |
Again, scorelines of a single game are almost meaningless. This NFL season, the Super Bowl Champion KC Chiefs needs a last minute score to beat the 3-12-1 Detroit Lions. Only someone ignorant would argue those two teams are close in terms of results or talent BUT FOR THAT ONE GAME. This scenario repeats itself multiple times over a course of a season or tournament in every single sport at every level. So posting about a single game and then even more importantly, a friendly where intensity may not be there equally for both teams from both coaches and players (usually one team looking to prove something more than an other) is, to me, an indication of a poster that has not played or coached highly competitive sports. And DA and ECNL are highly competitive leagues. No matter what club you are carrying water for, this entire conversation around the results of friendlies is flat out a waste of time unless someone wants to post video and we can all see for ourselves what happened on the field. Anyone that truly knows and/or has played this game at a high level knows that one team can dominate the other and still lose. Soccer is that way. |
If you watched that KC Detroit game you would know that KC had a bad game for the duration of the game. KC had a bad first half in the Super Bowl too. |
The argument was that one game result is indicative of two teams being equal. That is not a valid argument. |
| ^^And actually proves the point. A single game or even a couple is not indicative of team strength. We’ve all seen better teams lose. A low scoring win should not be used to determine team strength, unless it is most games. |
What does any of this have to do with Vda? |
Personally, I don't see a specific VDA connection, but as a general thought that includes VDA by default, wins and losses, in league, showcase, friendlies, or whatever else that are close games within a goal, the presumption should be good competition and an even match. |
Why was there so many VDA 06 players at the FCV tryouts? if VDA 06 is so good why not stay at VDA. Does the club know they are unhappy? As a FVC 06 parent this is so telling that VDA is still on its way down-hill. it is laughable. |
How many is “so” many? 3? |
3 is a lot when we are talking about some of your top players, No? |
|
Has VDA 06 and FCV played against each other? Some VDA parents think FCV is a better team based on late marketing.
As a former VDA parent I bet current parents of any age group are tired of their kids being treated as if they were in a pro or national team. Players are mistreated as if they had a contract and only a few ones get glory. Get this, parents are paying your salaries, if you selected some kids to be part of the team all them should be able to develop equally. The question is does FCV care for its players or they are more focused on online propaganda? |
Go back to VDA you won’t be disappointed. They aren’t going down hill. Under this new administration they will be the best around for development. |
Look. FCV has a ton of problems but telling people that anything run by MW is going to "develop" players is laughable. |
