William and Kate have had fine lines to walk -- not to outshadow Prince Charles as the future king and Camilla as Queen Consort. There were so many rumors/rumblings early on that Charles should be skipped over for William.

William and Kate have 50 years of engagements ahead of them, assuming they have the longevity of their ancestors.

They have plenty of time. Kate is focusing on her young children while they are still at home with her -- she is not in a race.

I'm not sure sure where you're going with that. You do realize that Diana was Prince William's mother right? As such she was also married to the Prince Of Wales? But if you really want Camilla's numbers, she's outpaced Kate in engagements 3-to-1. No I'm not going to link it for you, look it up.

One would hope that with modernization of parenting, Will and Kate spend much more time with their young children than Charles and Diana did.

They are better parents by far than Will and Harry's parents were.
