Yeah, I'm with pp. You're being disingenuous or are too incapable of understanding to waste time discussing it with. |
I think it's worth revisiting and better quantifying the costs of moving vs. the costs of staying. Without ad hominem attacks, if you are capable. |
Feel free to go start a new thread if you just want to insult people. If you want to discuss these "excessive" transportation costs then feel free to stick around. |
Then go ahead and discuss them. Go educate yourself and then come back with an informed opinion. Don't sit around in ignorance and then expect everyone to take your opinion seriously. |
Jamestown ended up with one extra - 4 classes. |
So Nottingham deserves a traffic study but ASFS and Key do not? |
ASFS already has almost as many buses as the option programs, they don’t need a study to know the site can handle it. |
WTF are you so combative? Personality disorder? Low EQ? Anyway, I’ve been watching this whole saga and after we’ve gone down so many different paths I’m stepping back now and asking is it really all worth it? What exactly was so wrong that needed to be fixed? And the question is a little premature because we don’t have some data yet. Boundary impacts: waiting on latest enrollment numbers Transportation: saving how many buses? 2-3? Moving costs: $40-500k? |
What sources did you use to derive those numbers? |
| Who the f cares?? It’s a building, you whining, bored women. |
Tell us more. Where does that impotent rage come from? |
The county has to do something that benefits the greatest number of people. An option school is ... an option school. The world will not end if an immersion program has to have 100 fewer students in it. |
OMG - Where will all of the Montessori & Spec Ed kids go? 4 K Classrooms....Jamestown must be bursting at the seams. |
The county has to consider all of the competing interests of a diverse student body in a crowded school district given a limited budget. The world will not end if the county leaves the schools in their current location, or at least defers any decisions until they’ve done the full upcoming boundary study. In other words, treat Key and ASFS exactly like every other school in the district rather than pretending they can skip the voting and boundary process with respect to only these schools. Does someone at ASFS have some sort of special communication going on with the superintendent or any of the school board members? |
Number of bus routes in walk zone for Key. Moving cost estimates thrown around - one was too high, one too low. Point is we don’t know yet. It’s not adding seats to address capacity. If ASFS #s aren’t exploding then is the move (and shrinking Key) really worth the cost of a few bus routes? I think it’s worth revisiting this basic question in January when APS has time to look at numbers. |
