On one hand, a youth sports official shouldn't behave like this, but on the other, neurotic dork dad got what he deserved. I probably wouldn't have even acknowledged said dork dad and maybe notified the tournament officials if there was a channel for doing so - just so the club would know that dad is a dork. Accosting the ref is against the rules of just about every tournament and league. For those who say "cell phones are expensive," STFU. Dork dad used very poor judgement in trying to capture who-the-hell-knows-what on video.

Just search youtube on youth sports parents. It has gotten out of hand and what i've noticed is the parents that actually understand the sport typically sit back and chill. It's the jerk offs that "think" they know what they're talking about that usually screams.

"Good kick little Johnny!" Ummm, he just booted it 20 yards to no one, that is a big kick that lost possession you moron. If you zip it, you might enjoy the game.

Can you do us a favor and enroll in a sensitivity workshop? Or just, you know, show this post to an educated woman under the age of 50 and listen when she reads you the riot act?

I OTOH found it hilarious and probably close to what actually happened. We tend to think we live in this post-violence world where people CANNOT smack or physically punish you for any kind of smack talk. Expect to be punished if you talk to another individual in a confrontational manner. Seriously, did you inspire the 'BRO-DOWN' from South Park?

LMFAO...it is the "BRO-DOWN" scene from South Park. That's exactly how it played out I'm sure out it. If you don't get it...Google it.

That real life scene would be worthy of recording.

What age?!?!!!

Arlington White. U17 D1. They make filthy fouls throughout the game to halt the tempo and argue/complain to the ref over every single call. They also scream whenever they get touched to embellish the contact, and fake injuries to waste time when they have a lead.
Anonymous
Looks like refs start giving a LOT more cards at U17! Especially in those upper divisions.

There's a U19 Broadneck team with 17 yellows, 3 reds.
Anonymous
It also depends on the ref, to be fair. Some guys will card you for daring to ask what the foul was, some won't call anything unless legs are almost broken.

How do the current Joga teams look?

Unfortunately not so good. They have 2 teams, both in EDP. 06s play in EDP South D2, 04s are in EDP South D1. Both are in last place in their divisions, yet to win a single game.

The 04s: http://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/team.aspx?TeamID=688720&History=yes&compact=

The 06s: http://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/team.aspx?TeamID=1167387&History=yes&compact=

I'm sure a lot of that is because most of their best players left for the DAs, but having seen one of their teams play this year, I have to say I wasn't impressed. Yes, they are still kindasorta trying to play possession, but they just don't look like they are being trained the same way as they used to. They used to be so impressive the way they spread the field, moved the ball, and dominated most games whether they won or lost on the score board. Now they look like a bunch of individuals without very good decision making or positional awareness.

It's a shame because for a while there I really thought they were on to something - shaking things up and making some of the big clubs in this area wake up and take notice. Now they seem like just another flash in the pan ....

I thought the same previously but then after meeting some people who had kids there, they weren't impressed with the training as some had hyped it up to be. Others said that it was basically the bringing together of talented kids from other clubs and branding it as if they had put in all of the work to get the kids there. No direct involvement, just commented from others that I know previously involved. They have moved on to either DA or top teams at good clubs.
