You need to read the rules for NCSL. They won't be staying together, you're getting conned. |

E-mail sent by GFR:
Dear GFR Families, We have recently become aware of targeted outreach directed at several of our youngest travel teams by a competing organization. This solicitation has included various claims about our club and coaching staff, and we would like to provide you with the facts to ensure you have an accurate picture of the upcoming season. First, this type of solicitation is unethical, unprofessional, and contrary to the spirit of our governing leagues. We are disappointed at the ongoing continued targeting of GFR. We have notified the appropriate league officials and governing bodies to ensure these matters are handled through the proper channels. Behavior of this nature creates unnecessary distractions and is exactly the kind of "drama" that detracts from the youth sports experience. Regarding the upcoming Spring season: Coaching Stability: No coaches have been dismissed. All coaches currently assigned to their teams are scheduled to lead them through the spring season. Personnel Policy: As a professional organization, GFR does not discuss confidential employment or personnel matters. However, should any coaching changes occur for any reason, GFR is committed to a swift, professional transition to ensure minimal disruption to our players. Next steps for families: If you have felt external pressure to sign new agreements or commitments, please be aware that you are under no obligation to do so. GFR remains fully prepared for the spring season. Our priority is—and will remain—providing your children with a positive, competitive environment. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have further questions. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to a great spring season. Best regards, Paula Abbate Executive Director |
Teams rarely stay together completely with the transition to 9v9 changing roster sizes plus the normal differences in rate of development. |
Plus the age group changes. |
Yeah what’s RBFC’s plan for the fall when they have 1 team per age group and they’re all being torn apart by the age group changes? I haven’t heard that yet |
| why doesn’t GFR say outright these coaches will stay through spring as they intended? |
They did : Coaching Stability: No coaches have been dismissed. All coaches currently assigned to their teams are scheduled to lead them through the spring season. |
These are almost all GFR board rejects - either got booted off or couldn’t get voted on in the first place. It’s fairly irrelevant though. The problem they all had was with RS and since the club had such instability last year until he stepped down it’s understandable why they would want to start something new. Now he’s gone and this club hasn’t gotten in too deep to realize the coaches they thought would be easy prey aren’t actually gonna leave. |
Wasnt GD fired for doubledipping with his pay to play private training? |
|
It sounds like GFR is going to make sure these Rbfc teams cant play in ncsl (and good for them).
Is all the drama with the little girls teams? No boy teams moving? |
No, he resigned |
Haven't heard anything on boys side, why would they leave? |
He resigned rather than follow GFR rules on coach bribes. |
Lol-you are so BITTER! |
Not at all. Don’t even have kids at GFR after this spring but I feel sorry for the parents getting taken advantage of and moving to this new club run by a bunch of clowns. Some of the parents here seem truly confused about all this and it’s too bad. FA is great with the little girls but I wouldn’t risk moving to an unestablished club for her (if she’s even going - she seems to be telling different people differ stories). |
