I remember people here praising Gwen's jacket that turned out to be from Talbots.

This from a board that otherwise roundly condemns anything from Talbots.

Those must be the friends that were posting here all weekend, LOL

I'm guessing most of her friends are nerdy lawyers like her and this would explain why her clothes are pretty meh.

Get a stylist, girl! You don't have to go high fashion but people are going to be taking your photograph continuously for four years. Find someone who will put together a system for you that works for most events and then will create evening looks for you when you need one. And I think you need to start from scratch on your hair -- get a lob and a deep condition, start scheduling monthly trims to keep it in shape, follow directions regarding washing and drying.

This isn't about vanity. This is the job she signed on for.

Actually her “job” is to stay bland and out of the limelight. Who has ever cared what the second lady wears? Half the time we don’t even remember her name.

She looked great and not at all like someone who was demanding the spotlight. In short, she looked just right. I loved her inauguration ball gown and her pink coat.

That coat was humongous and weird and it showed off her crazy gray hair which looks awful. I don’t GAF who designed it it did not fit and it looked crazy.

You sound utterly crazy. The coat fit her perfectly. It's a *coat* not a bodycon dress. I don't care who designed it either - she looked lovely.

Here's Kamala Harris's coat from Inauguration 2021. Now THIS is a humongous and ill-fitting coat. I'm sure you agree.

Yep, hate it. But it’s not in such an attention grabbing color nor does it have such an odd I’ll fitting scarf attached.

Jealousy.

I think it’s the juxtaposition of all that coat with her hair up. She looks like a pin head attached to a giant coat with puss n boot boots attached. This is where a stylist could really help. https://images.app.goo.gl/kaRafYgQQy1ywFsB6

Exactly! The lengths this board went to bend over backwards in praise of what were ACTUALLY frumpy outfits is pretty hilarious. So obviously partisan.

Because they never said anything. Usha has. And with that, you become fair game.

Bright purple is not an "attention grabbing color"?? Comic gold!

Misogynist hypocrites, to be more precise. The ultra-critical posters would be going out of their mind if these ugly comments were directed toward any liberal woman.

I think it’s something beyond politics that’s driving the responses here. I just haven’t put my finger on it yet.

The critical posts are so over-the-top as to be trollish. The way some of these posters are harshly criticizing everything about her appearance is something else.

I’m not even a political person really so I have no idea what kind of odd battle you’re having with yourself here. This is purely about her look.

And yet, if her hair had been down, then the poster who is outraged about "flyaways" would have taken to her fainting couch. This woman can't win. Nor should she try to. I hope she continues to dress in this way - classic and feminine.

I hope she starts a trend of letting your hair go gray. Go Usha!

Any woman in the limelight gets torn apart. Are you new here?

I don’t even know what you’re talking about, but for dressing, proportions matter. If you’re wearing a big look like this, with a coat hitting baggy boots, you need your hair down.

Anonymous wrote:Call me crazy but I like the white blouse or dress. It doesn’t really seem to make sense for this prayer service in this weather.

As a Catholic married to a non-Catholic, I am wildly curious about their religious life. I assume he goes to mass weekly. Where? Will he start going to St. Matts? The new cardinal is, I would think, not to his liking so perhaps he will come up to bethesda to go with the kavanaughts or out to Virginia? Does she go to mass with him? Do the kids? Will they go to CCD? Usually these compromises are worked out before the marriage and kids but he converted after all that so I am intensely curious how she’s navigating all that. Wearing white to prayer services and wreath laying….iis that a quiet assertion of the fact that she’s still Hindu?

Nah. She lacks style and style sense. She thinks a silk dress is what one wears to "something important," but anyone who has been in a big cathedral knows they are poorly heated, so a wool dress or a wool suit makes the most sense.

Let's be real. If she had worn a coat or heavy dress to this service, you'd complain that "she's wearing a coat/heavy dress to a church service!!" You would also have claimed the coat/heavy dress was "ill-fitting." I mean, seriously? No matter what she chooses to put on her body, you're going to be piping up with some bizarre take down. It's beyond tiresome.
