Probably not its only March 8. I'm sure they have some core groups (6-10 players) locked in at each age level. Tryouts will be annouced soon, after that week they will have to extend all the offers they have left. 2012's may be the exception, they only needed to add a handful of new players to their current squad. Grabbed two best from McLean so far, they might be done with offers, but I would gather the rest want to see more players in April.

Best is subjective, so maybe it's true to them?

Not true

Maybe they meant BRYC and not McLean.

I'll give it to SYC. They are winning the social media game, which is (sadly) appealing to parents worried about their kid's place in the soccer world

I don't know if anyone wins in youth soccer. However ECNL has pissed A LOT of people off which is helping SYC.

I'm not sure whether SYC got lucky b/c of others' misfortune, or whether they deserve some credit here.

Like most things its never one thing, probably more of a combo. But they are the chaos agent in a way. I could be off with exact timeline but here's what happened if you just logged in today.

- Fall/Winter 2023 SYC dissolved VA Union partnership which leaves MYS with no union when it needs one because of depleted pipeline since Arlingon got GA/ now ECNL was their original partner for MYS ECNL and DA back in the day.

- Januray 2024 SYC announces its depature annouces GA acceptance, while FCV current GA powerhouse rumors are rampant of their coaches jumping ship and not having fields secure for 2024-25 season

- January/Febrary 2024 US Soccer recognizes afflication with GA, which on the outside is just registering players, but insiders no its the inside track for women's academies

- February/March 2024 MYS annouces new Union wth BRAVE (BRYC + Vienna) to replace deminished pipeline from SYC's departure. Poor communication and justicifacation on who this benefits, who's at fault and who is in charge leads to true spectulation about the MYS (Union) product.

- April 2024 and moving forward SYC lands more players than anyone would have assumed and MYS familes officailly have buyers remorse questioning if ECNL is serving girls and boys simultaneously is best for there darling DD. What orgnization does that well in sports? Name one, that serves girsl and boys equitably and at an elite level?

Any idea how many players SYC GA has signed thus far?

I'd imagine they're nearly full. Going to probably spend the next month or so waiting to see who they can snag that ECNL teams didn't pick up.

They seem to post every day about it so I was thinking they didn’t have many.

Nice try last two weeks was MLSN IDs. Any new player to the market needs to be open for business, looks like good business to me that they are open to players taking a look. Curious? Come on by… development happens there I hear 👂

Our daughter was just offered a spot on SYC GA 2009 girls team. Wondering the status of the program or if anyone has any good intel so we can make a good choice. Thank you.

Honesty...
The 2009 and 2010 teams lost their best players to VA Union 3 years ago and haven't recovered. As it stands now the 2009 team is mid table in South Atlantic NL division playing against 2nd and 3rd teams. The 2010 team is at the bottom of the table playing against rec teams. Both the 2009 teams and the 2010 teams will need some serious re-building in order to compete in the GA. It can be done, but trying to get top players from Brave/Union and VA Revolution will be a tall order. Good luck, hope your player develops and has fun along the way.

Once VA Union was formed between McLean and SYC three years ago, the clubs' individual top teams were tiered. VA Union became the first team overall. McLean became the second team overall, so their 1st team played in RL. SYC became the 3rd team overall, so their first team went to EDP/National League. With this in mind, SYC has been operating as a team below RL for the last three seasons. It sounds like you are new to the area, I thought everyone in norther VA already knew this? Anyway, good luck.
