But the dress itself is hideous and her styling is very plasticky looking. She looks like a Bratz doll (sorry Mindy). I wish she'd gone super classic instead.

She changed into the same dress in black before presenting! So strange.

Changed again for the after party.

LOVE the after-party look on her.

This is what she should've worn for her appearance. Beautiful!!

LOVE the after-party look on her.

Her hair looks a gazillion times better after. Dress too.

Agreed, love the hair and the dress. I still think her makeup looks weird. It's the colors. I question whether she is working with someone who knows South Asian skin -- the colors alls jut look off to me, which is a bummer because she has gorgeous skin.

Still, this dress is so sweet on her and the color is phenomenal. I love literally everyone who went for a giant gown in a vibrant color, it just makes me smile. That's what I'd do if for some weird reason I was invited to the Oscars and allowed to wear whatever I wanted. It's the fantasy.

I'm old and out of touch and had to look up who this is. Not surprised to hear she's playing a Disney princess as that is exactly what she looks like! What a beautiful girl.

She is so beautiful and has a beautiful voice. This color is perfection!

Some looks we missed.

Jenny Slate at the ceremony (her afterparty look was posted)

I like the Gigi badid one.
I really did not like mindy kaling’s white dress. I’m not crazy about white dresses—they aren’t really flattering on most people, and I hate cut outs and I think bustiers are overdone and not particularly flattering on most people. I feel like mindy used to have some whimsy and fun in how she dresses which I loved. I think she actually could rock a bustier with her new body — she’s got just the right amount of curves on top, butt this very severe look is not doing it for me. I would have loved to see her in something with a beautiful color, pattern or print. I think she probably would have looked better in salma’s dress than salma did. Or even a cropped top number like zendaya wore last year if she wanted to show off her abs. It’s like she’s trying to prove the old adage that skinny girls are no fun. I miss fun Mindy!

She's clearly enjoying her new body. I don't love her new body fashion - though the black dress looked better than the others - but maybe in time she'll start looking more at ease and choosing dresses that aren't only about having a new body.

The metallic after party dress is gorgeous. She should have just gone with that.

I like the idea of her hair but I wish she'd gone more full on 60s girl group with it, with a high polish and more height/bounce to the pony tail. But really good, I love how much fun she has with fashion at these events.

She looks great, but I do not like that pattern. I had a hand knit Afghan blanket like it in the '70's.

Fail. The color is ick and the style does nothing for her.

Errrm, no, this looks like a lot of TJ Maxx/Marshall’s dresses from the late 2010s. Seriously, the “random O ring on dresses” look is not Oscar-worthy. This looks like Macy’s sale rack. Hard pass. Cara D’s look, while it wasn’t my favorite, was at least in the ballpark.

I feel like we've seen several Imperial Senate from Star Wars fashions - Malala, Jennifer Connelly, and this.
