A rising senior going to Prep who is a star on the lax team - I wont say where he is committed to college - was caught smoking pot on campus this past winter at GP. The boy was not expelled.

Don't think Landon is the only school that allows for scandals to go "untouched"

There are a lot of great kids and families at Landon and yes there are a few sour grapes that need to thrown out. You can say this about a lot of independent schools.

Nobody "has to remain" at a school that costs 28K per year (or whatever it costs). Let's get a little perspective. People who attend Landon are still very privileged, as are all of our children who attend private schools.

To save others the carpal tunnel inducing click, blogger's thesis is that because some people from the Washington Post graduated from St. Albans in the 1950s and 1960s, All left wing media hates STA's rival school, Landon. Why? Because Landon is better in lacrosse. So Dowd's article is part of a vast Left-Wing Conspiracy to avenge STA's lax inferiority.

That blog response is not only ludicrous but factually inaccurate. Like Gore Jr is not exactly an alum of STA. Plus I've always heard STA is 1/3 DC, 1/3 MD and 1/3 VA but I think the VA population is more like 15-25%.

Gore Jr. did graduate from St. Albans. His son, Gore III, also attended but left after the pot incident. He eventually graduated from Sidwell.
