If you were any of that you'd never vote for a Trumper like Youngkin. He's pro-gun and anti-woman's rights. There are bigger issues than TJ and trying to convince people otherwise seems exactly what a right-wing operative would do. The changes to admission even were very reasonable and allowed students at the less affluent schools a fair chance. If anything it favored the naturally gifted over the prepped, but many parents resent having their ability to game admissions diminished. |
What kind of moron would think of telling me how I should be voting? Keep up like this and you would get Trump. |
Right wing operative!!! I despise Trump. He is a freaking retard. That I would consider even voting for him should have made you pause for a second. But no you make insinuations about me and proceed to tell me how I should feel. Do this enough and you can get ready for 2nd term for Trump. |
It's not despicable. It's basic mathematics. Over-represented is not a value judgment. |
The lady doth protest too much, methinks. ![]() |
College educated people are over represented in federal jobs. We should do something about it. Not everyone has the ability or desire to go to college. Penalizing them would be inequitable. |
Are the college educated people claiming that they're being discriminated against even though they're the most well represented group? |
Well said, and a testament to their bumbling, virtue-signaling, incompetence. I know the School Board representative in my district likely will get tossed out as she is now widely reviled, but others probably can keep getting re-elected if they want. Best result one can hope for is a new School Board in 2023 that at least has some real diversity of opinion. A 12-0 Democratic Board turned out to be a complete disaster. |
Have you tried telling college grads that the rules will be skewed against them to penalize them for privilege? After all the hard work, SAT/LSAT/GRE/GMAT prep is what got them there. That gives them a distinct advantage over those with a high school diploma. Most importantly if the outcome is imbalanced, you have to fix it. Go for it. |
Coalition-aligned folks major in drawing comparisons where there are none. Jobs are not the same as educational opportunities. Nor are places on sports teams. |
Seriously, eat sh*t. TJAAG-aligned folks are about nothing so much as ensuring TJ remains at the center of attention in FCPS. They don't care one iota about educational opportunities for anyone other than the 3% of FCPS high school students who attend TJ, but they want to make sure there's a rainbow coalition at TJ because it makes them feel better about having attended an elitist, exclusionary school. |
Very well said. The so called progressives in that group have much bigger problems that need addressing. There is a giant education gap between whites and asians on the high end and blacks and hispanics on the low end across the entire system. It starts with AAP admissions and continues onto average SAT scores, AP classes taken, AP scores, and college admissions acceptance and rigor of colleges accepted to. Then there is the opportunity hoarding that continues across the system. One of the most glaring examples is Annandale high school which used to be in the top half of high schools and now is in the bottom 1/3 due to selfish redistricting policies. |
Or you could try to make a point. But good on you for acknowledging that TJ has been elitist and exclusionary. We agree there. |
The points were made. They just spoke to your hypocrisy and narcissism, so you choose to ignore them, as might be expected. |
I disagree. So . . . we are back at square 1. Ration scare resources equitable across everything or don't, but why do you think we should listen to what you think is comparable and what isn't? |
