Anonymous
Interesting story. Mindy Kaling says she's estranged from her brother anyway.

But, he applied as a 'black man', got accepted and then dropped out after 2 years.

It really is! He shaved his head and trimmed his eyelashes to look 'black'. He said even his frat brothers didn't recognize him.

A black woman did something similar with job applications that made the news. She put that she was a white woman and got tons more job interviews. After reading about this I had dh put he was a white man and he was actually hired for the job.

Um no, black men have the highest unemployment rate of any group. If you think that's an advantage then have at it!

Educated black men? I doubt that is true. I'd like to see your stats on how college educated black men compare to other races when you look at their employment stats.

It all makes sense - who needs another Indian doctor? They're a dime a dozen! Isn't that the point of Affirmative Action? Increase diversity?

Yes educated black men. There is no shortage of information on this issue.

Actually, the study was done with ethnic sounding names. Those with common AA names received fewer calls for interviews. Nobody puts their race on a resume and even job applications don't specifically ask for it. Do employers still hand out the optional EEO form where you can specify a race? I'm not even sure that's done anymore.
