Makes sense b/c the ECNL-RL teams play each other over and over again and they are very familiar with most of the players on the other teams. |

I thought our girls' top team in 2014 was strong - i read it somewhere here.

Throwing shade because of the rankings app just cycled through a year? It looks like they almost tied Arlington who is in state cup semis and went undefeated in the league. Also, this ranking site is meaningless, especially for Ulittles, because any team playing EDP gets inflated points throughout the year. It is unclear how Pre ECNL will do points this year since they collapsed the division. |
I don't know what happened, but that team is losing a lot of players. They've cannibalized the Gold team to fill a roster for next year, and the Gold team had to make offers to every player on the White team to get numbers. White team is going away. |
I heard a lot of it had to do with the coach and Valor continuing to overpromise and under deliver. Also, the NVA split and murky pathway with FVU creates a lot of anxiety. The team was solid this year, but will struggle next year. |
I do not think the team was solid at some point. They didn't good at the league and tournament (after WAGS, they didn't win) Pre-ECNL ranking 14/24 team Virginia Valor FC 2014G Pre-ECRL MP - 12 W - 4 L - 6 D - 2 March 15th - March 16th, 2025 2025 Jefferson Cup Girls Weekend (2016-2011) gs - 0 30 30 March 7th - March 9th, 2025 Arlington Tournament Series - 2025 Spring Girls Tournament - 0 40 40 February 14th - February 16th, 2025 The Adidas National Cup 2025 - 0 60 60 November 9th - November 10th, 2024 2024 Bethesda Premier Cup YDP U9 - U13 - 0 10 10 October 12th - October 14th, 2024 2024 WAGS Rael Vodicka Tournament Finalist 1370 390 1760 |
Good players left in the middle of season? |
| Valor sucks, but arguing about how well a u-little team did in rankings is kind of silly. |
Look at valor, they drop off after the fall. Lots of complaints about their winter programming which falls into the spring and has them trailing. I doubt players left, but the level of play usually drops with this program in the spring. 14 out of 25 is a meaningless statistic. The division collapsed from two to one in the fall. Several teams higher in the seedings mostly play second teams, so Strength of Schedule varies a lot across teams. |
| Most serious families leave valor after u9. They learn a bit and realize that Valor is a bit of a joke. Some stick around for another year but usually regret it. |
Maybe if they have had a kid go through the system already. I am not sure if most parents with an 8 year old know that much. Ones who are leaving probably had an issue with the coach. It takes a few years to really understand the Program IMHO. |
It becomes pretty obvious when nepotism/favoritism takes hold and no one from other clubs shows up to join DC. Most adults are a quick study when dealing with competitive youth sports. There is a bit of snake oil involved depending on the coach, though. Some parents can be sold on nonsense or have a hard time accepting their own kids inadequacies when they realize they had been taken for a year or two. |
valor decided to solve that problem by....not hiring any coaches for next season. Can't have a problem with the coach if you don't have a coach! |
| Valor- I can’t quit you…. Reading the comments, I mean! lol! |
Me neither and we live many states away. Its such an entertaining train wreck. |
