Roe v Wade struck down

Zero reason for Senate Republicans to block this.

Let’s examine the shifting platform of sand upon which the forced birthers stand.

First Roe was settled law, all six of the con justices swore so under oath.

Now Roe is gone.

Then it was “good! states’ rights!”

Two days after that Moscow Mitch signaled they’d happily take up a federal ban on abortion.

Then came the stories of women bleeding out in hospital parking lots or waiting at home to be sufficiently septic enough to qualify for an emergency abortion (nevermind the thousands condemned to carry pregnancies they didn’t want and children they couldn’t afford) and the forced birthers have gotten real quiet.

Then came the reports of increased neonatal and maternal mortality and there are few tepid “but LiFe!” posts, with most forced birthers quiet as they grave they want to push women into.

And now the GOP is signaling that women won’t be allowed to travel interstate.

The GOP wants women to stay at home, under the watchful eye of a man, any man, because any man making decisions is better than women deciding their own lives.

And near silence from the forced birthers.

Women’s right to choose was never solely about pregnancy.
Women shouldn’t be in control of their future.
That includes work, and travel.
That includes voting.

But Biden’s old so…

Islam and Judaism doesn’t approve of abortion but actually requires abortion in one instance: if it’s in the case of the mothers life or health being in danger . Emergency abortions to save the mothers life are allowed .

The mothers life takes priority over saving the unborn life.

It seems insane to me that in Texas, a woman with an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage can die because even abortion of an already dead fetus is not allowed . Abortion is the MEDICINE to treat miscarriage. A miscarriage is medically called a spontaneous abortion because it’s an unplanned abortion

Millions of Catholics and Christians are not hard line at all. They ignore this dated backwards guidance and they get the care they need from IVF to birth control or abortions. Eventually the Catholic Church will make progress and focus more on more important issues like poverty and hunger and shelter and healthcare needs etc.

It's a disgrace. And it will get worse if the Republicans hold onto power.

“Complaints that pregnant women were turned away from U.S. emergency rooms spiked in 2022 after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, federal documents obtained by The Associated Press reveal.

The cases raise alarms about the state of emergency pregnancy care in the U.S., especially in states that enacted strict abortion laws and sparked confusion around the treatment doctors can provide.”

That's exactly what they've wanted all along.

Republicans including Trump are NOT forward thinking. They are retrogrades who want to go backwards.

But their backward world is only for things they deem bad.

I’m sure they want to keep their cell phones and viagra.

I’ve maintained through this thread that the GOP wants it to be 1850, but with phones.
