Well, well, looks like Texas's abortion ban did nothing to protect life and in actuality the infant mortality rate increased.

It's really sad you don't realize what those numbers mean. You understand that 100% of aborted babies would be dead, don't you?

Silly PP. The only lives that matter are the unborn in the womb. Once you are born your life isn’t important. Not ti Republicans anyhow.

And who cares about the women who were forced to gestate them, because their lives don’t matter, right?

+1

They like a good sturdy amount of dead infants. It makes the forced birthers feel like God has adequately wrathed a family that deserves emotional torture, and they probably think it’s taken a weakling out of the blood, as the ancients used to leave infants out to die of exposure.

Those poor families who were hoping to bring home a baby. I wish that forced birthers would understand that abortion is healthcare for a number of reasons, and that when you remove an entire tool from a doctor’s tool kit, you’re hamstringing medicine and you’re going to lose the doctors who practice. And voila fewer doctors for prenatal care and delivery.

Altogether now, “women aren’t people in the GOP.”

Don’t engage with trolls. They argue from a place of contempt for women.

Why is Christianity or Catholicism more hard line about abortion without allowing any exceptions? Islam and Judaism doesn’t approve of abortion but actually requires abortion in one instance: if it’s in the case of the mothers life or health being in danger . Emergency abortions to save the mothers life are allowed .

The mothers life takes priority over saving the unborn life.

It seems insane to me that in Texas, a woman with an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage can die because even abortion of an already dead fetus is not allowed . Abortion is the MEDICINE to treat miscarriage. A miscarriage is medically called a spontaneous abortion because it’s an unplanned abortion

I do care but you clearly don't, since the article linked above pertains only infant mortality.

Texas already had the worst maternal mortality rate in the nation. The US is not the best with maternal health anyway. Our infant mortality rate is still very high compared to other developed nations

Judaism and Islam do not require abortions. That’s false. Just like Christianity, there are different opinions depending on how orthodox a sect is about where to draw the line, whether with exceptions for saving the life of the mother or allowances in all cases. But neither religion says a woman is going to hell for example if she refuses an abortion to save her health or life. For example, here’s a statement from the conservative committee on Jewish Law and Standards

https://www.rabbinicalassembly.org/story/cjls-update-abortion

Now here’s the Methodist church (Christian) also agreeing that life saving abortions are allowed: “We recognize tragic conflicts of life with life that may justify abortion, and in such cases we support the legal option of abortion under proper medical procedures by certified medical providers.”

https://www.umc.org/en/content/social-principles-the-nurturing-community#abortion

So again, Orthodox may be different than Reformed Jews. Methodists differ from Catholics.

Zero reason for Senate Republicans to block this.

Pfft Forcing women to bring to term a dying fetuses they have to pay to cremate or bury, extending their period of grief and time to be able to try again for a healthy baby. Robbing women of future fertility because your laws denied them an abortion when it could have saved it. Saddling parents with gigantic medical debt for a forced-birth baby with insurmountable and disastrous medical issues. Making a woman with no sick leave or health care lose her job and then her apartment because you wouldn’t let her get an abortion at 8 weeks. No thanks if that is your definition of “care.” You hypocrite.

Zero reason except they’re gunning for a national ban as is promised in Project 2025.

+1 the cruelty is the point. Their hatred of women is so severe that they’re willing to force this on thousands annually, just for the joy of causing women emotional and physical pain.
