The Vance pick confirms that they’re going to go for the stealth national abortion ban, no congressional action required:

Wait, is it illegal to travel to another state to get abortion? |
Several states are trying to pass laws like this - Missouri is one. But if the Republican administration interprets the 14th amendment as protecting embryos and fetuses abortion will be illegal everywhere. |
+1 So either the GOP is going for a nationwide abortion ban or women will have restricted travel. Vote blue and make sure your friends and family are voting, too. The GOP is going for their dictatorship hopes this time. |
I hate to break it to you but most people that have been paying attention at all now understand that this goes far beyond abortion. Fertility treatments, legal threats to medical providers, the erosion of the maternal healthcare system, reduced ability to attract quality healthcare providers, birth control, miscarriage care among other issues. This is an emergency. |
All of this. All of it. This isn't just about abortion. This has effects and consequences in multiple areas of women's healthcare. |
And do not leave out men. A solid percentage of infertility cases are because of male infertility issues. Dorry but some of you maga tough guys can't actually impregnate a woman without fertility clinic assistance. |
+1 And men will also suffer because states with abortion bans are having trouble attracting doctors and medical residents in every single specialty, not just OBGyn and emergency medicine. |
Agree, it’s not about women’s rights at all. |
Just vote to keep these fools out of power and away from our families. |
+1 Anyone who thinks they’d be happy to stop with abortion (as Vance originally wanted with no exceptions for rape, incest, fetal anomaly or a ten year old getting raped. Oh yes, he was one of the doubting jerks) is deluding themselves. |
