Would love to know the assistants name.

Look at the charging documents. Pay attention to his lies. Specifically with the red lined bag and the manila envelope. He says that the other employee gave him a manila envelope with money and he put that in the car. The w-2, said no that's not correct and showed the police the picture the assistant sent him(showing 2 bundles of cash with one with the band around it in a red lined bag). The assistant then stated he lied before and what really happened was the other employee took 4 stacks of cash from his pockets and gave them to him, the assistant put them in his red lined bag, then took them out and put them in a manila envelope in the car. Then look at the arresting paper on Wint..When they describe him they say the defendant, who was carrying a bag, sat in the rear passenger seat. The document also specifically states, the vehicle, which still contained the aforementioned bag by the defendant was transported to DC...etc. I think Wint has the assistants red lined bag. IMO

All those phone calls that morning between SS's phone and the assistant's phone could of been Wint talking to the assistant on SS's phone. IMO

Murders happen all the time in DC with no coverage in the Post. The paper probably doesn't want to be accused of only caring about the murders of white people. Though, instead of not covering this one, the Post should simply start covering the others.

True and any new details from LE have sort of fizzled out for the time being.

Wint is muscular and very strong. He likely had a gun and with the element of surprise that's really all he needed to overpower this family. The details that have been released so far have been absolutely horrific. That poor little boy and his parents. That innocent housekeeper. They did not deserve this. 4 lives gone for 10K each. Why?

It doesn't seem all that surprising to me that the system was useless.

Yes. This.

Keeping the trial pure and withholding as much as the news as possible until the next big lead is secured.

Respectfully disagree, Jeff. Or, if that's the reason, it's a stupid reason. The thing is not the murders; it's that it's literally the worst thing we can ever imagine happening to our families in our homes. Extraordinary happenings, including worst nightmares, get ink.

Well, if the system was still operational at the time the housekeeper was overpowered (in your hypothetical), then theoretically there should be video of the approach and more.

"The truck belongs to Amerit Fleet Solutions, and is basically a rolling garage, equipped to service and repair vehicles away from any fixed location. Spokeswoman Karen Vinton said the California-based company is aware that the truck was involved, and is cooperating with authorities."

Let me preface this by saying I believe the assistant to be completely innocent. However, I did notice in one of the assistant's pictures (from a link no longer available here), that he mentioned doing some welding, but said he wasn't very good at it. Another weird coincidence since Wint was a welder by trade. Do all race car drivers have to learn welding to maintain their vehicles?
Would welding be a service provided by an Amerifleet vehicle? Wint had a relative who had recently been let go from AIW, were they a welder? Were they the one driving that truck?

Just some random thoughts.

Depressing about all the murders, no matter the sex, race, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, etc. No one gets their news from MSM nowadays anyway.

The Post did have a short story about Chandra Levy and the couple murdered in Rockville today. Maybe this home invasion will be covered next. WaPo went crazy over the murder of Robert Wone several years ago. IIRC, they had a dedicated website for it, etc.

I completely reject the premise here. The Post has had articles about this almost every day, with MUCH more attention than most murders in DC. Most murders are not this horrific so I don;t have a problem with this but its laughable to say the Post is ignoring the story. They aren't going to walk away from a story of such interest because they don't want to be accused of favoring coverage of murders of white people. You can make that case but not here, not with this murder, and not with the amount of coverage they've given it. What they haven't done is just thrown whatever crap crosses their line of vision out there like the Daily Mail. I think the Post has been more accurate and careful than any other outlet.

This is so poignant and heartbreaking. These victims just seemed like good people. Rest in peace.

Maybe. These things don't keep the recordings forever obviously. They were in the house for a long time. I don't know.

The Post just doesn't have a deep bench on the Metro section, and certainly not on the police blotter. It is something, however, that the Post has basically abdicated in-depth coverage of this major story to others.
