Not only did he declare bankruptcy and take campaign donations from unions that he is making contact decisions about, he apparently didn't file state or federal taxes for years--yet not a peep about him stepping down. What an embarrassment.

there isn't need to file tax returns every year if you don't owe taxes

The IRS filed a $17,000 lien on his home for non payment of taxes. Not owing was definitely not the issue.

Can you link this article with this information? If all of this is true, he really needs to step down. It’s not his private business. He’s not a private citizen, and the voters had every right to this information before deciding whether or not he should represent us. I don’t trust him any longer, and it’s undermining my faith in the party, too, because I think they knew. Just like they knew about the Governor’s picture, just like they knew about the accusations against the Lt. Gov. They are really expecting me to suspend a lot of disbelief. The last thing we need is a bunch of people being disillusioned with the Dem party heading into the 2020 elections.

“Faith” in the Arlington Dems? How naive are you?

Let's not conflate organizations...

ACDC <> Democratic Party of Virginia <> DNC

Sure they are all related and some mistakes were made across the board but there isn't some big conspiracy. People who are trying to do the right thing made some mistakes. It happens.

I do agree he should step down, but let's not get hysterical over this.

WAPO had it in the original article, but my memory failed me. It was actually over $27,000. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/virginia-politics/arlington-county-board-chair-christian-dorsey-files-personal-bankruptcy-petition/2019/11/07/caccd748-0197-11ea-8bab-0fc209e065a8_story.html

"The bankruptcy petition shows Dorsey has mortgage and auto loan debt of $484,807, as well as credit card or unsecured debt of $86,733. He also faces an Internal Revenue Service tax lien of $27,595."

Hi, Steve. Good job making Terron Simms look like a dream candidate.

Now go away.

Get the ACDC out of the school board.

His speech really didn't impress me last night, but still willing to keep an open mind. Leaning toward Sandy & Symone, but I'm really worried about the Hatch Act issues with Symone. I don't know who my next choice would be.

Look at the mess in Iowa. We need to abolish caucuses.

Don't disagree, but not about to happen for this election year, so still leaves me figuring out candidates

In all seriousness, the view of an unmarried person without kids in the system would be a breath of fresh air.

If you think it means that person can make decisions free from personal bias. In the case before us, the unmarried person without kids in the system doesn't bring a lot of knowledge about how our school system works and seems to be a politically ambitious person looking to use this as a stepping stone to other positions. She should be pressed pretty hard to make her case.

Agree about needing to make the case, just like other candidates.

Whatever happened to her big announcement that was supposed to shut up her nay-sayers?
